I had to give up on this place after a year. I was lured here by a good review on doctor review site about a primary care doctor. But that was a lie as this primary care doctor didn't know a thing about me after a year. She never seemed to read the chart before entering. In addition, the nurse took my blood pressure wrong each time. Putting me in a low chair while she stood with my arm above me. Well, of course, that is going to make my BP low. I swear anyone from the street would give me better medical care.
Late with every appointment- insist on office visits before ordering lab work for simple blood screening. Typical Insurance company padding practice. Always seeing a different doctor. Haven't seen my PCP in over 2 years, yet he thinks he can make a decision about a potential tumor. Refused to move up appointment for scans. My last 3 appointments there were all different RN's- like I'm not allowed to see the real doctor. What's he doing??? This place is terrible, the people who answer the phones are rude, the wait times are ridiculous. This is NOT your friendly family practice. Just a cash-cow money making, insurance company padding junk practice.
We recently moved from Medford to Acton and we're really thankful that there was a Harvard Vanguard office nearby. It was simple to transfer to the new office. The Pediatric doctors and nurses are amazing, the Internal Medicine department is extremely helpful, and I have had really positive experiences with both the pharmacy and lab.
I have been seeing Dr. Gomez for almost 20 years, and have seen many other doctors, PAs, and NPs within the office as well. I've never had a bad experience there. All the staff I have encountered have always been professional, friendly, and helpful. I've never had an issue with referrals, even after they switched to Atrius, and have been able to see multiple doctors outside the practice. I've never had an issue with billing or the pharmacy like other reviews have stated. I was truly shocked to see such low reviews. I rarely call the office, but when I have, I've never had to wait too long. I use the patient portal and ALWAYS receive a response within a few hours. Even Dr. Gomez herself responds to me, the same day, when I ask random questions that are only loosely related to my health. Over the years my dad and mom have become patients of Dr. Gomez, and I cannot speak any higher of her and the staff there. I would, and do, recommend them to EVERYONE that asks.
First time visiting was years ago. This office has held a consistent level of professionalism. The doctors stay, which is a sign of the office itself being a great place to work. The doctors are incredibly educated and capable of solving the most complex medical needs.
There are some great people at this office and in this network. Overall, however, I have been frustrated at every level with this particular practice and Atrius overall. With few exceptions they are horrible at communication, do a poor job of explaining issues and test results, and take a supremely defensive posture at any criticism. Their in network care is shockingly sparse, even fairly routine procedures can only be performed at one or two locations. I’m in serious pain and I’m having to play message tag to find a location closer to my address that they told me existed. It’s a perfect example of why the health care industry is broken
I just spent almost an hour in order to make a appointment this is Friday by the way. In the beginning, there's no one pick up the phone; then I was transferred around in order to reach the CORRECT person for make appointment; then when I finally reached someone who were in charge of making appointment and got to know there's no one available to see me that afternoon it was only 2 pm at that time. So I was then transferred to a nurse to answer my questions, and this nurse was slow talking and didn't help at all. I told her what I need is to have the lab to do a strep throat test so I can be sure if I have the infection or not. I don't want to sleep in bed with high fever for the whole weekend wondering what's going on. She finally reluctantly make an appointment for me. This is the worst experience! I don't like Harvard Vanguard Concord Office. I had seen doctors in Watertown before, and the staff there were younger and more prompt. Here in Concord everyone is slow-paced, it's like in a nursing house. Sorry I am very mean today because I feel very ill right now.
We love it here! Doctors are all great, billing department is great. Whenever we've had questions or concerns they've helped to explain things in a courteous, friendly manner. My works insurance is difficult to deal with, being able to deal with such helpful people Harvard Vanguard has been great.
My Review is Only for Opthalmology, parking, location, front desk and optometrist. I was there countless times October and November of 2019 & waiting for next safe appointment. Cataract surgery both eyes. Dr. Gustave Alberti and support team. I was a difficult case & a difficult person I imagine. Complications after surgery at Surgisite not their fault but dreadful and fraud billing. Yes fraud confirmed by health insurance or let's pretend a "mistake" vociferously refused anesthesia everyone knew but oh look! Reviews Should not be based on one or two experiences not all other reviews make this error but you know.. golly I feel as if I lived there for 2 months. Dr. Alberti. People love him. Surgery waiting area was full of "I love Dr. Alberti!" Truthfully he's a bit of an odd duck lol. I think he's borderline spectrum. Intelligent but a tad scripted. Of course he does the same thing over & over: that's all he does cataract surgery. But he's very married to his medication chart. I'm sure "studies have shown" but my meds were complex on many levels due to infection or slow improvement. Chart designed for 3 weeks with not enough space. I'm just using this as an intro example. I was not a great reporter on my history but this didn't help. And then. Dr. Alberti does Not talk down to you and not to women either. He's a good diagnostician and a very attentive caregiver in that he sees you as often as needed Even if that's every 3 days.. Now. Reflect on wait times. Patients are being squeezed in yes wait times vary. Emergencies are unpredictable and no business can afford to leave gaps of time. I really grew to respect him. His staff were great. My only issue is this new reliance on the online system "My Health" I wanted to take home a piece of paper. Especially as my meds were changing constantly. Loved the nurse eye folks. Front desk. Efficient. Never waited more than 4 minutes. One day I was in an angry mood because of insurance then weepy. They were patient and kind & got me water. Quick pharmacy but my prescriptions were sent down. Optometrist a sweetie. Parking Fantastic! Always close as in a row next to front door. Good location once you figure out how to recross route 2. I had a dreadful experience at Atrius- H Vanguard with a nasty Dr. DePhillippo perhaps that trauma influences my love of Concord. Oh Covid! DePhillippo gave me an incorrect glasses prescription right before I could get another. So I can't drive. I hope they've fired her. If you know other Vanguard locations I'd say it's not too far off Kenmore, Davis Square or Watertown in quality but light years away with parking.
I think HV in Concord does a very good job. I get quality care and many tests done in house. I am not thrilled about often not being able to see local specialists which are in my plan. I have been often happy with in house specialist but they seem to have a high turnover rate. My biggest issue with the company is you often wait 20 minutes on the phone. The online website does offer email contact, appointment scheduling, test results and much more if you do not want to use the phone.
