Our NASPAA accredited MPA program offers a unique combination of theory and practice that ensures our students leave equipped with the critical thinking, problem-solving, and people skills essential to professional success.
We attract a diverse student body from all undergraduate majors and walks of life. We provide high-quality internship opportunities to give our students the practical experience necessary to compete for today’s jobs. Our graduates work at all levels in an amazing variety of organizations and fields—law enforcement, national parks, local government, economic development organizations, the military, and nonprofits.
Our program provides working professionals with:
*36-hours of instruction in critical skills such as team building, budgeting, communications, human resource management, decision-making, and program evaluation
*small classes scheduled at nights and one the weekends
*a “doable” degree that can be completed in two to three years
*a faculty that includes traditional academics, “pracademics” (academics with career experience in government or nonprofit organizations), and working professionals
*instruction on the political, social, and economic environment in which government and nonprofit organizations operate a specialized track in criminal justice
*electives in homeland security, emergency management, and grant writing to name a few
The Master of Public Administration program enhances the performance of public and nonprofit organizations in our region and the nation by preparing a new generation of public service leaders to competently and ethically lead public and nonprofit organizations. As an interdisciplinary professional degree program, we seek to:
*provide a broad education for individuals entering government and nonprofit organizations in administrative positions
*enhance the capabilities and performance of individuals currently serving in management positions in our region
*produce relevant public administration research
*provide active public service to support and improve the quality and delivery of public services in our region
