The purpose of the Auxiliary of Community Memorial Hospital is to support the hospital and its patients through fund-raising activities and service projects that benefit the hospital and the communities it serves.
Volunteers assist throughout the hospital as well as working on the following Auxiliary projects:
Bargain Box—This thrift shop in downtown Hicksville, 134 E. High St., is the major fund-raising source for the Auxiliary, as well as providing a much-needed service to the community. Over 60 volunteers are responsible for the successful operation of this business. Hours of operation: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 9 AM – 12 noon, Wednesday & Friday 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Closed.
Sunshine Gift Shop—Located just inside the hospital's main entrance, the gift shop is open to the general public. In addition to gift items, the shop offers fresh flowers, balloons, Ohio State and Michigan items, jewelry, and holiday items. The gift shop is operated solely by CMH volunteers. Hours of operation are 10 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday.
Lifeline—a personal emergency response system with over 120 subscribers in Antwerp, Edgerton, Hicksville, Sherwood, Harlan, Montpelier, Leo, and Spencerville. Call (419) 542-5676.
Special Projects—Throughout the year, Auxiliary volunteers also work on other special fund-raising and service activities, such as: Festival of Trees, Christmas Walk, cookie walk/bake sale, scrub sales, book sales, and jewelry sales to name a few.
