It was so quick and easy to schedule an appointment. When I arrived, everything went so smoothly and I barely had to wait. The provider was great I saw Sara Woodruff - very friendly and thorough. I didn't feel rushed, either! I've been an orphan since my longtime general practitioner's office shut, and I will be coming here for my primary care going forward.

Both visits I made to this location were disappointments. First appointment the doctor was dismissive and rushed. She didn't listen to my concerns and provided a short-term solution to a chronic issue. My second appointment was canceled the day of and they made minimal effort to inform me. One missed phone call; no texts, additional calls, or emails were made. They didn't even cancel the appointment online which would have alerted me of the change. I expected more from this clinic due to the good reviews but will be going elsewhere.

My experience with Avance is that they are efficient and effective in comprehensive well care management.  The hours of operation are convenient for working professionals. Additionally, the capability to view personal records online is a plus with the ever changing digital technology.

PROs:  friendly staff and rarely a wait time to be seen.  CONs: are not always thorough in assessments, checking notes and being practical, in treatment. For example, I was recently seen for an infection, which was misdiagnosed as fungal. To make things worse I was prescribed a medication they should have known I was allergic I had been prescribed it before for something else and I told them I had an allergic reaction, but they never put it in my chart, which made the situation much worse. The infection did not get better until several days later when it could be correctly diagnosed by another doctor I went somewhere else. There would have been no harm in starting me on antivirals in parallel, which was confirmed by the other doctor I saw for treatment. In addition, they are expensive, even with insurance. That visit and basic lab test have run &gt;$300. Other doctor I saw there was no cost with insurance.

You have a wonderful team in Avance!! I and my family are really enjoying each visit and we get efficient and timely health care services. Thank you all for your good work especially Carlos and his team.

Unfortunately I have to edit this review. My current experience no longer matches what was written. While the office was helpful in issuing a requested referral, they have been very difficult to get ahold of and work with since. Referral visit results were confirmed to have been sent last Monday and almost 2 weeks later, I finally have a visit to get the results. They couldn't call me. I called them multiple times and then it needed to be a visit just to hear them. Also, because they delayed my results and despite what I was told YESTERDAY, I now have to pay 50% more for that visit than if they'd called me when they came in because they raised prices in the meantime. Thank you for not caring about my time, money, or relaying important health information. There really isn't a reason it couldn't be added to the portal just like bloodwork results in the first place. I really like the provider but I'm going to think long and hard about returning to this office when they are hiking the prices for no reason and can't respect the patient enough to return calls or reach out with results in a timely manner.  Always helpful, friendly, responsive and NO JUDGEMENT. This is exactly the way a doctor's office should be. Multiple times I've needed prescriptions called in or had concerns that were urgent and they are so quick to get back to me and I always feel like they genuinely care. I never like going to the doctor and have had nothing but bad experiences before visiting this office. Highly recommend.

Love this office and staff. For a long time I was looking for a primary physician who would treat me as more than another file on their desk. I've  found that with Avance Care Durham

I see Sarah W. here and I highly recommend her! She listens, is open-minded, and believes me when I share my health issues. She collaborates with me and talks through ideas and options with me. Sarah is very knowledgeable and I'm so glad she's a part of my healthcare team!

This is the most beautiful place with the most beautiful staff I have ever encountered. They are friendly welcoming and every time you walk in the door they have a smile on their face which is genuine. They talked to the patient's to make you feel welcome and ask you if you have any questions they take everything you say to Heart. They follow up with you and they remind you of appointments. And I will not trade this office for no other Medical Practice not now or ever. Thank you for being an awesome practice. Dr. D Wright

I Love my Dr. Office  & the fact that I can make a shame day, walk -in, even on the weekends. Not  to mention the concerns they have for the patients.
