I’ve rented from this location twice now. Both times I had no issues picking up or dropping off. I definitely recommend filling up gas at Costco before returning that way you aren’t paying the crazy gas prices Avis charges 3x more expensive I would like to thank Karen for helping me in my last rental! Karen provided amazing customer service considering I picked up my rental at the last possible moment. Karen treated me very kindly and did everything she could to help me on a late Friday evening pick up.
As far as the experience went, I received a great car that handled perfectly, and was able to pick it up and return it super easy. The staff was helpful with adjusting my pickup time when my flight was delayed, and it was easy to drop the car off at the airport when I left. The car seemed to be in great condition, very clean and well-maintained. All that being said, read the fine print. They’ll charge a cleaning fee, but thankfully I avoided that. I was pretty meticulous about cleaning the carpets before I returned it. They also charge a daily convenience fee for any toll roads, on top of the actual toll. I didn’t like that at all. The rental was pretty expensive for a week, so I’d advise trying to find a discount, maybe through Costco. They won’t reimburse you if you overfill/fill up the tank when you return it. I understand that it’s had to figure out how to charge someone in that situation, but they gave me the car with 3/4 tank full, and I didn’t feel like trying to gauge driving it to the airport and filling it properly. I also really would have preferred the car had California plates and not Washington. There have been a lot of rental break-ins in SF, and the out of state plates, along with the large “no smoking” stickers in the windows make it stick out as a target. All that being said, I had a pretty good experience driving my rental around SF, Yosemite, Big Sur, and Concord during my trip. Be cautious about leaving valuables behind in your rental, and where you park it, and try not to get nickel and dimed with extra charges. Big thanks to all the employees who set me up with the car and retrieved it at the airport. They did an amazing job.
Extremely impressed with Avis Car rental in Concord, CA. We requested a full-size SUV but didn't expect the top-of-the-line Jeep Grand Cherokee. Leather, satellite, all the extra's at a price that their competitors couldn't even come close to matching. 5 Stars for Avis!!
Dear Jennifer Christman, Below are the pictures regarding your pet hair fee charge. You said you never had a pet inside your car. However , how did all these hair came inside the suv ? You kept the Toyota 4Runner for 1 week. I have a sign that announces these fees so that upon return, you vacuum the car on your own to avoid extra charges. You know how long it takes to remove pet hair from the carpet ? First , we have to vacuum it, then we have to scrub the rock really hard to get all the little hairs stuck inside the seats . Then , we have to spend on febreze car air freshener To get rid of pet odors .
The worst experience with car rental. The people who works here so unprofessional and telling you one thing and 2 days later another thing. Rented a car for 3 month and the first contract was for at least 6 month The lady who use to work here that submit my original contract didn't put any information regarding the car as well she mess with the contract. This lady not working here anymore and u can talk with no one because they blaming the people who rented the car. They started to "bully" me and keep saying that they will announced my rental as stolen although I'm still paying. Met with Brian and Mimi last week and was told they will closed the old contract and will open a new one with the same prices, came today to do so but now the raises the prices and lying about the conversation of last week. So I returned the car today and paid everything to close the contract, and i was over charge extra $200 and extra $60 for gas Returned the car same as picked up, but the lady didn't record it Milena was there to take care of my returning vehicle but she was so angry and unpleasant. Please do a favor for yourself and avoid rental from this branch in Concord. Literally, it killed my day.
rented a car from here and was charged twice. Went to get a refund and they berated me. Finally, Brian Corbin the Territory Manager found the second charge and reversed the charge. He blamed me for not reading the rental agreement. He hung up on me when I asked for his Manager! Never rent from this horrible place!!!
Gave me a vehicle with expired tags! Over charged me $308 on my rental which I had to dispute for a refund. Car had no gas, Dirty, and bad tags. Called for a replacement, she told me no since when the police pull me over they will run the tags and see they are good. Who the Hell wants to risk that? Like what? ! Worst experience of my life worst customer service. Never leave without receipt the lady at Avis will con you. I can’t wait to catch the lady
What a rip off. I came 8 mins before they closed because I blew a tire in my car. I was grateful they were able to get me a car; however, they charged me $200 more than the internet price. The nice lady told me she couldn't change the price, I would have to book it online. I couldn't book it online, because at this time, the online website showed that this location was closed. I asked the lady if I could return the car early for a refund and she said yes. She failed to tell me, I had to return it by 1200 on any given day to get any kind of refund. So, I picked the car up at 1200 and returned the car a day earlier than I had anticipated and they still charged me an entire day because I dropped it off and 4 and not 12. So, instead of 24 hours early, I dropped it off 20 hours early and didn’t get any money back. They can't give you a partial day refund? This place takes advantage of people. When I dropped the car off, I asked to do an I inspection with the lady and she said there wasn’t a need for an inspection because I rented it there. She then continued to help another customer. That doesn’t make sense to me…. for all I know, they could come back and say I damaged the car. Go somewhere else and always rent online if you have a choice, which I did not. I suppose being taken advantage of, is the price you pay for needing it in an emergency.
I hope you're lucky to check the yelp and google reviews before renting from here, rather than check afterwards like I have. The agent at this location seems sweet in person, but the operations are run with minimal experience and cars are not in optimal condition low gas, dirty exterior/interior. Also feels untrustworthy, if you bring up something that's not right with the car or reservation, it's blamed on others. Rather than responding to reviews, the agent or owner adds a new 5-star review to counter each negative. Naive, unprofessional and unreliable.
Thought I was getting a pretty good deal here as I did my “numbers crunching” and budgeting for the week until almost a month later I received a notice in the mail that Avis charged my credit card a $125 PET CLEANING fee for the vehicle!! I don’t even OWN any PETS!!!! I called to try and give them a chance to explain themselves and the person who I talked to was very rude, stating it was policy if they determined there was TOO MUCH pet hair and needed to keep the deposit, not even considering the fact that I didn’t ever even have an animal in the vehicle. I felt super disrespected and frustrated. Do NOT go here. They will nickel and dime you for everything, even if it’s not legit!
