This was the best experience I have had at a rental car agency. The lady who assisted me was excellent. As I waited for my service, the customer before me was very disgruntled and frustrated by the airports policy regarding Debit Cards. The employee servicing her remained professional and kind throughout the entire interaction. I applaud her for trying her best to contain the situation and find resolutions for the customer. She did her job, but also kept the rest of us customers comfortable as the agitated customer caused a bit of disruption. I am upset that I did not catch the representative from Avis' name because she was amazing and I highly recommend her. Once it was my time to approach the counter, she continued to be super friendly. You would not have even known the incident before had occurred. I hope that someone can relay this message to her because she was amazing! I highly recommend using Avis at GSP when traveling. Their location is so convenient and the service representatives are so friendly and professional. I really felt like they always had the customers best interest in mind!
I usually expect car rental services to hassle me for additional insurance and warnings that make me dread renting a car at all -- as if I were signing my own death warrant. Pleasantly, this past experience with AVIS was flawless. The main positive was my experience at pickup and drop off: both clerks were cordial, respectful, seeking my best interest in addition to the professional service they provided. Even though I have a lot to do, I took time to write this token of appreciation. Keep it up!
It’s been awhile since I’ve rented with Avis. We were planning to have our own car but had car trouble and had to walk up without a reservation. The staff at GSP could not have been more helpful or efficient. Our rental had been cleaned and was in good shape. When we returned the attendant could not have been nicer and more helpful. A great experience when a friendly face really helped turn our day in the right direction. Thank you !
Really tired of them trying to charge me for gas when I top it off everytime. This is a disgusting business practice for someone who used to be avis preferred. 3rd time they have done this to me. I strongly suggest keeping your gas receipt and taking pictures of your fuel gauge. Mine has way over, in fact I put more gas than I should have somehow, and they tried to tell me I was 3 gallons short.
The car was not cleaned, wasn’t vacuumed, asked for oil change when we were 1 hr from the trip, the tires needed to be changed ASAP. They are flat. I feel this company put our family at risk. On top of that, they charged our credit card twice for an amount that exceeded more than double the amount they offered for a one-day rental.
So when I picked up my car the gentlemen at the counter WAS NOT HELPFUL! He did not greet me. He was on his personal cell phone the WHOLE TIME! I think that is very unprofessional and RUDE! He didn’t say thank you or anything. His focus was the call he was on, on his personal phone. When I dropped my car off the gentlemen was really nice. I love Avis, but that’s unacceptable. He will not keep me from renting there, but I hope I never have to deal with that guy again!
Their service is good; vehicles are good; but watch out for those prices. They have a captive market and they know it so be aware. Always make a reservation online and keep an eye open for those add-on charges they're supposed to upsell and get commissions for selling. The number of vehicles at the airport is very limited and they seem to have the biggest stock on hand.
It's the worst place to get a car from if you don't have a major credit card. No debit card is accepted instead. If you find a deal online, you can not pick up your car there without a credit card. Not friendly clerk. He wasn't interested in helping. No WiFi or cell phone signal is in the facility. Dissatisfied. Avis website needs to mark somehow that airport locations will not satisfy all customers, and I do respect local policies, etc. I was charged online and wasn't able to pick up my car at the airport location. Lost my precious time.
This location is often undermanned resulting in long waits 3 of last 4 rentals in past 12 minth have been a 40-90min wait for reserved vehicle with flight details provided to forecast demand. Location has nice and helpful staff but due to the underlying manning and pre-planning they are in scramble mode doing their job. It's nit fair to the desk agents to have 10+ people waiting on vehicles to get cleaned and made available. As a business traveler and devoted avis patron its troubling to see this repeat problem not resolved and to promote me to consider changing rental car company.
Horrible experience, took about 2 hours to get car. There was a lobby full of upset guests, and employee didn't seem to care or be bothered! Once I got vehicle it had a not legal tint, that I could barely see out of, but I couldn't wait longer for another car. One of the worst rental experiences ever! I wish I could rate 0 stars.
