Reserving a vehicle was simple. We got there and found that someone had changed our reservation from a Ram 1500 to an SUV, with additional charges. We did get the truck, but thank goodness I had all my confirmation. I called Customer Service to straighten out the problems. The person I spoke with was kind and helpful. He was able to straighten out our reservation. The truck we rented was not clean, and we found a knife in it, which we got rid of. We returned the truck after we washed vacuumed and cleaned it. The return went smooth. The representative was kind, and we were checked out without any problems. I will be checking my CC to make sure my reimbursement is credited within the 3 days I was told it would be.
We highly recommend this Avis location. We have used them several times and have always received great friendly service. When we requested a larger vehicle Mohamed immediately made the change and went and prepared a different car. And on return we forgot some items in the car and even though it was almost closing Mohamed said no worries he would stay until we returned. We appreciate the ease of doing business with the Burnsville Avis!!
Stay away from this place!!! Dude literally lied to me about what time to bring the car back after waiting on him to find me a car and giving me a car with no gas, just to charge me an another day for it being 30 mins late from its original 12:49 agreement signing, even tho I asked him was 1:09my new time. The car was brought back at 1:20 and I was charged for another day. When I told him I videotaped the empty gas tank while still in the parking lot and it’s time stamped, he told me to take my business elsewhere. Of course I will!!! By the way I had to fill up as soon as I left the lot. There wasn’t an apology or anything just yelling at me to keep me from talking. No thanks
BEWARE!! I rented a car recently and the owner/operator up-charged me on coverage of the rental of which I DECLINED! He'll ask "do you decline the coverage?" And you answer "YES"...he will then have you sign the rental doc with the coverage in very small font of which you think you are declining. You then get a e-receipt later on with the charge for the coverage! You then contact customer service, of which they will say "You signed the rental agreement with the coverage"...or in other words, "he defrauded you, so live with it". VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE LYING! I would love to believe it was a mistake, and hope they refund my money or this review will stand. And I will continue to say DO NOT USE AVIS IN BURNSVILLE! Funny how a $120 fraud works..I have rented cars for 30 years and NEVER accepted the coverage on a rental because it is a rip-off for one thing when I have my own coverage. I am going to file a BBB complaint if this is not taken care of in the near future.
My wife picked up a car and when driving home the car shook so much she nearly ran off the road. She called here before 6:00 PM but nobody answered. Was made to drive this POS to the Mpls. airport to pager another. She didn't get home for several hoers. The airport Avis gave us an upgrade that was used by smokers. I'll never use Avis from Burnsville MN. again. PS., we had to return the cab to Burnsville and the guy never apologizes.
My experience with them was not good at all. Called and spoke with an agent who made a reservation for 7:30 AM as I was needing the vehicle to go out of town for a family medical emergency. At 7:30 AM as I was pulling up, the so called owner calls me on the phone and tells me he doesn’t have a car because he needed to give it to someone who had booked a reservation before me and said they wouldn’t have anything before 12 that day. So….frustrated I told him I really needed the car earlier and told him it was due to a family medical emergency. He very rudely and unprofessionally told me there was nothing he could do and asked me if I wanted him to go to the factory to get a car and I responded Hell yes. He hung up on me right when I was pulling into the parking lot. I went in and told him how rude and unprofessional he was and he was still being condescending saying that I was rude to him which I was not rude to him at all just was trying to understand why a reservation for me was made in the first place when they knew they had no cars available. This put me in a bind trying to scramble to get to my loved one. I was also told that they use debit cards when I made my reservation and he told me they would need to do a credit check if I was using my debit card which was not told to me when I initially made the reservation. He told me he would get me something in an hour and never called me. They do not value their customers AT ALL. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this placeAVIS in Burnsville,MN especially if you have an urgent need to get somewhere. Proceed with caution if you go to them. Not reliable or professional. UPDATE: I see that the owner has responded to my comment on their horrible customer service and practices. My name is what they see and they should be able to look up my name and get all of the information they need. I am not doing NOTHING ELSE. If the want to correct the situation, they will do what they need to do to correct it by reaching out to me without asking me to do a thing. Again I do not recommend this place at all.
I always have a great experience renting from the burnsville location. I have rented with either Avis or Budget in the Burnsville location and never had a problem. Manager has also been helpful and kind. I have probably rented 5 vans or large suvs from this location and always got the vehicle I requested.
I was hoping to rent a car but when I showed up the sign on the door said that they were out picking up a customer. I called the number on the sign as directed but no one answered. I waited for 25 more minutes and called again. No answer. I had to drive all the way to the air port. I was already in a hurry so this was very inconvenient as it was also more expensive. I won’t be coming here ever again.
Do NOT rent from this place. Had a reservation for over a month, showed up to get the rental and was told they had NO CARS. No call, no nothing. The Rep there was totally unhelpful and did not care one bit....called Customer Service and they were WORSE. DO NOT WASTE your time with this place!!
Check your receipt and the car you are renting as this place is full of dishonesty. I’ve rented a car from this location a few times and never had a great experience, but this last occasion was just plain terrible. When I arrived I was given a Nissan Rouge which was a nice free upgrade however the tire sensor light was on and the owner simply kicked the tires and said “it should be fine”. I was planning to drive 3 hours south in snowy conditions so I couldn’t accept “should be” and I ended up filling the tires myself, on a rental car I was paying for. The next issue was when the owner claimed he would “throw in” satellite radio for me. Well the satellite radio never worked, I called but still nothing so I just chalked it up to nothing since this was “thrown in”. A day later I get my receipt and I was actually charged $7.99 a day for this and it never worked!!! So $24 for no service. Finally, another item charged on my receipt was a GPS. I will admit I did accidentally check this box to include a GPS when booking the rental, but when asked at the rental counter I told the owner I did not need this and he supposedly took it off, well he didn’t. Another $7.99 per day added in extra charges for a service I didn’t receive. Overall this was not a good experience, I would recommend going elsewhere for your car rental needs.
