Have been here several times, shopping for natural, organic, baby safe items. They have a variety of easy-to-use products. Great selection of the best strollers and car seats. Also a variety of all wood, environmentally safe, low off-gassing baby furniture. Their staff have a remarkable knowledge base and are willing to spend time explaining the products and guiding you to the right product for you. While many products here are high-end, there is a respectable number of lower priced items that have been vetted for quality. As a first time mom I felt lost in babies R us - Baby Grand was a great shopping experience. We bought the Nuna car seat in sand. They did not have it in stock, it took about 4 weeks to arrive. This wait didn't bother us because we had started shopping when I was 4 months pregnant so we had plenty of time. Baby grand offers a free car seat install whenever you want, this is usually $30 at big box stores. I can't imagine why these reviews are so low. I have been treated so well at this store and I feel they have great products and their staff so knowledgeable and experienced - things that are hard to come by these days. I love to support the local shopping experience. They have done the shopping for you. Makes things so easy!
The worst customer service I have experienced in years. I will start with the good news, Baby Grand has great selection of items that my wife and I both liked. If you’re planning to purchase something in-store everything there was nice and the staff was helpful. My wife and I ordered a dresser and crib combo in mid-March to be delivered and assembled for us. We were told a 6-8 week delivery time and that we would receive a call when it was nearing delivery. Seven weeks later we had received no call, so we attempted to call to ask about the delivery time. After leaving messages several times, we finally got a call back, but it was during the work day and we couldn’t answer, but they didn’t leave any message. After nearly an additional full week we finally were able to talk to someone about our furniture. Apparently our dresser had not yet left China and was soon to be shipped to the US. We were given several options: choose new furniture and have it delivered soon, wait for both items to arrive and have them shipped at the end of June to early July, or ship the crib and a temporary dresser and replace the temp dresser with a new dresser when ours arrive. We opted for the third choice and we were told delivery of our crib and a temporary dresser would happen within 2 weeks. 3 weeks later we still had not received the crib or temporary dresser, but we were informed everything was on a truck to MN and to expect to receive it by the end of this week. Today, 12 weeks after ordering a crib and dresser, we were told to expect delivery, although they never told us what time, just sometime Friday afternoon. After calling to figure out when it would be delivered we were told around 2pm, then it changed to 3pm, then it changed to 4pm and we learned that both the dresser AND crib that were being delivered were not what we ordered. They apparently shipped the wrong crib from their distribution warehouse. Today we were told that he crib and dresser that we ordered should arrive the day before my wife is due. This is totally unacceptable and just pitiful. I would highly recommend to never order something from Baby Grand. If you are purchasing in-store, go ahead; they’ll obviously have stock of items that are in-store.
Purchased a dresser and a couple of other items from Baby Grand, spending a significant amount money. Staff was very helpful and informative that is until the items were delivered. I paid to have the dresser over 100 lbs brought inside and up a flight of stairs. The delivery men were kind and courteous that is until they left I saw they had cut the trim off the dresser and left on the floor in the middle of the room. Not a single word. I called the store and explained to salesperson I worked with and she said she would have the owner get in touch with me. While the damage is in an area that can be hidden when I'm paying for delivery on an dresser that is more than $600 it should not be damaged at all. Needless to say I have yet to hear from anyone at BabyGrand or was I compensated for the damage done to my item. I should have know then they were not a company to do business with. I also ordered a mattress and bedding which were supposed to be delivered a week after I placed the order in store, again for a significant amount of money. A few weeks went by and I heard nothing from them. I called and they said oh there's a back order we will let you know when. Great you should have done that without me having to call, only problem this was not true. A weeks later my little one decided to come early, making my need for the mattress pretty urgent. Again I had not heard from nor was the mattress delivered as I had paid for. I called from the hospital and left multiple messages, guess what no call back. I finally reached someone on my fourth call and very annoyed the person stated "we got your message and are working on it. When can you come pick it up?" Are you kidding me. I just told you I am having a baby early and you want me to facilitate picking up a mattress and bedding which was to be delivered? We had the items picked up and they were poorly packaged as well, very dirty. I don't think it was used but I suspect it was a floor sample of some sort. I didn't bother complaining as with the furniture they wouldn't do anything because they already had my money. While their staff is knowledgeable and they offer a wide variety of quality products their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. When dealing with people during what is a happy but stressful time follow up and quality customer service is required and unfortunately they are unable to provide that. I strongly discourage anyone from doing business with them.
I love that I can get my baby needs so close to home! It's such a different atmosphere from those big box baby places: warm, homey, and a manageable size. I went to register, and an employee walked around with me the whole time, suggesting items I wouldn't have thought to register for and talking about the differences between the various brands of high chairs and such. They sell really high quality brands--I'm thinking especially of their furniture. They strive to provide great service. Sure, people make mistakes--that can happen anywhere-- but they have been prompt about making things right. When my dresser came in cracked, they called me to let me know before they delivered it that they thought I wouldn't like it, and offered me a loaner if I needed it until another of the same model arrived. I am happy to send my shower guests here, and shop here myself, knowing the staff will be helpful and I can make returns easily if I need to.
I love this store. Their items are pricey, but I they have different wraps and soft shell carriers in store that you can try on which is helpful. I picked out a glider from them and the staff was so very helpful with the process. They have such cute items and it is fun to look around! Also upstairs they have a few nursery's set up to get ideas.
If I could provide zero stars, I would! I ordered a matching nightstand and accessories for a floor model crib and dresser in January 2018. After 4 months of receiving no update on where my order was, and after multiple calls, emails, and visits to the actual store to obtain updates, come to find out that Baby on Grand can’t even obtain the nightstand that they sold to me initially! This company has had my money now for nearly 6 months and I still have no product they promised. I was given the option of having a “similar” nightstand which isn’t even the matching one to my child’s bedroom set - and I foolishly agreed as I just wanted to be done with this whole nightmare and this store can’t even tell me where THAT is! Bottom line - if you can’t walk out of the store with your item in hand, don’t bother - all the reviews on here related to custom order or shipping orders are negative reviews. Staff are unresponsive and unprofessional.
The few times I've been in the store Hopkins Location I have had good experiences with knowledgeable employees who did a great job at helping me pick things out, or learn about products which as a new mother-to-be is quite overwhelming! However, I decided to buy my crib here. The crib was a Million Dollar Baby crib and when it was ordered, my Mother in law asked for it to be delivered by August 15, which would have given it about 6 weeks. most ask for 4-6 weeks. We didn't get it. My MIL was angry, and I tried to calm her, telling her it was no big deal. Well, weeks past, and they said AGAIN that it wasn't on the truck from Georgia, but that I can "Borrow a crib if needed". Why would I want to borrow a crib? I just want mine, before my baby gets here! Since then, they explained to me and my mother in law that this was a "specialty order" which was never mentioned before, or I simply would've picked out a different crib. It's now 9/12 and I'm due in ten days. I was told last week that a truck was being released from Georgia, and that they would call me to set up "white glove service free of charge" sometime this week. I called on Wednesday, and spoke to a woman who was going to call the warehouse and call me right back. I never heard back. I called again on Thursday, and the woman I spoke to seemed ever more clueless about it. I just want my crib before my baby gets here, since it was supposed to be here a month ago! I am so frustrated. I seriously never write reviews, and I never complain. I've been in customer service my whole life and I know and understand how sometimes things can go wrong that are just out of your control. However, nothing has been done to redeem themselves, and the situation just hasn't been dealt with very well at all. I hate to trash such an adorable baby boutique that I had originally loved, but after spending plenty of money here, and having a bad experience, I feel like I have to.
All the one star reviews are unfounded based on our recent experience at Baby Grand. We were welcomed and asked if we needed help within 30 seconds of arriving. They have a great selection of high end stuff and gave a great demonstration on how to wear a baby sling. We will be definitely be back.
I think the negative reviews must be reflective of different staff a few years ago. I have been twice and had a markedly positive experience both times. Anne and Iris were wonderful and explained pros/cons of multitudes of baby products for hours.
Awful. 2/2 orders screwed up, delayed and made frustrating. First order, huge backorder, no mention of this at time of order. Very helpful advice fitting the seat to the car, but then downhill right away. Tons of delays, tons of constantly varying excuses as to where it was and why it wasn't ready for pickup. Second order, takes much longer than we were told to arrive, and they imply we're idiots for "misunderstanding" the staff who told us the wrong thing when asked about it very pointedly. We ordered on 5/28. Order not shipped until 6/6. Partial order arrives 6/12, a full week later that we'd been told. We insist on the final item, they can't get a straight answer. It's on back order. Then it's shipping, but maybe a day behind. They don't have any in store, but they do have other people's orders that they can take one from. I ask to cancel the order, and am told that we can't. I insist on canceling. Told I can't. Chargeback and 1 day shipping from Amazon. Problem finally solved.
