Back Bay station

Description

Back Bay is an intercity rail, commuter rail, and rapid transit train station located just south of Copley Square in the Back Bay and South End neighborhoods of Boston, Massachusetts. The present building, designed by Kallmann McKinnell & Wood, opened in 1987. It replaced the New Haven Railroad's older Back Bay station - which opened in 1928 as a replacement for an 1899-built station - as well as the New York Central's Huntington Avenue and Trinity Place stations which had been demolished in 1964.Although South Station is Boston's primary southside rail hub, Back Bay maintains high traffic levels due to its location in the Back Bay near the Prudential Center development and its access to important Northeast Corridor services. All Amtrak Acela Express and Northeast Regional trains running to and from South Station stop at Back Bay, as does the daily Lake Shore Limited long-distance train. Four MBTA Commuter Rail routes - the Providence/Stoughton Line, Franklin Line, Needham Line, and Framingham/Worcester Line - also stop at Back Bay, as do the Orange Line subway and several local MBTA Bus routes. It is the third-busiest MBTA Commuter Rail station (after North Station and South Station) and the fifth-busiest MBTA subway station.

So not sure why some people on the reviews said no one was available to give help for Amtrak but they’re definitely people there. It’s also signs clearly labeled. The place is pretty small when it comes to Amtrak. The track is listed on a board for your train as early as 30 mins before. Great food options. But I will say it was a ton of hobos too. Also poor ventilation once you get to the train waiting area. I felt scared breathing that exhaust in. It really hits you in the face once you go down the escalator.
Not a bad place but why so many pigeons indoors. there's gotta be a way to get rid of them. it can't be that hard. can amtrak hire someone to chase the pigeons out of the building? my ticket cost like $400 bucks. take 2% of every ticket to hire someone to get the pigeons out of the waiting room. no more pigeons in the waiting room!
Not the nicest looking train station but not bad, but the brutalist architecture has not aged well at this station. The lighting on the platforms are not very well lit and the storms over the years have really taken its toll of the platforms walls here. I am sure this station was nice for its time when it opened back in 1987, although it most likely had mixed reviews due too the lack of colorful art decorations here. The Orange Line platform and the waiting area is the nicest part of the station.
Back Bay is a really cool station! I really like the Orange Line platform and the look of the station. It is certainly adds some charm to the beautiful location it's in. It's also pretty clean here which is good! Why am I giving this station only 3 stars? It's mostly due to the sketchy folks hang out in the lobby, commuter rail platforms, or outside the station, so if you visit Back Bay I recommend watching your back. The Orange Line platform isn't too bad so you should be fine there but even then, be aware of your surroundings. Other than that, Back Bay is overall an average station but it does have some cool looks, I'll give it that!
Horrible Station. Many Jerks on their way. Especially in the Tasty Burgers. It doesn't fit in this beautiful City. Really a mess!
