Arlington (MBTA station)

Description

Arlington is a station on the light rail MBTA Green Line. located at the southwest corner of the Boston Public Garden at the corner of Arlington and Boylston Streets. Arlington was not part of the 1914-opened Boylston Street Subway; its construction was delayed by World War I and the station opened in 1921.LocationArlington station is located at the eastern end of the Back Bay neighborhood, at the intersection of Arlington Street and Boylston Street, in one of the most prosperous areas of Boston. The station's prime location means that it is close to many popular attractions in the Back Bay area. Arlington is the most convenient station to reach the Boston Public Garden, as it is on the southwestern corner of the park. The station also serves Bay Village, one of Boston's smallest and least-known neighborhoods.HistoryAfter the success of the original Tremont Street Subway in 1897–1898, there was a push to extend the tunnel under Boylston Street towards Kenmore Square. During 1913 tunnel excavations near the present-day site of Arlington station, remains of ancient fish weirs built by Native Americans were found approximately 30ft below street level. Their age has been estimated as between 2,000 and 3,600 years.

So many ppl Good entrance for Newbury st
Old but functional. Make sure you know your direction before entering the station.
I'm at Arlington. I get off the B and maps says I need to get on E. No where is there a sign saying train E. Boston cannot stand to put up signs to help people find their way around.
Was threatened by Black Female MBTA Station Employee this morning! Minding my own business when she walks by me and says; "What's your problem!?!" and "I'm going to call my man!" I hadn't said a single word to her! Totally unprovoked verbal attack and threats of physical violence by the MBTA Employee towards me personally!
Arlington train station is really good wheelchair access elevators or up and down stairs very helpful people there appreciate those who work there!

this stop can easily confuse you when you exit it has 2 different ways out:one goes to Arlington/ Boyolston Street the other goes out to the Public Garden on Arlington Street but other way towards the Esplanade the stairs leading out totally fool you because one they go to either side of the street so you MIGHT end up on one side of Arlington or Boyolston Street because of that odd design but apart from this ALL 4 Trains board here E-Heath Street D- Riverside C-Cleveland circle & B-Boston College so its a great station if you are trying to go East or Westbound also not too far from Copley Square or Downtown it may be a small station but lots of people use it daily and isnt as crowded as most other Green Line Stations nearby although during Rush Hour It CAN get pretty busy but NOTHING like Park Street
It’s actually one of the nicer cleaner stations on the green line and you never have to wait long for a train because all 4 lines on the green line go though here
One of the nasty dirty stops on the greenline.
