The Consulate envisions the continuity of friendship and partnership with the United States of America and all nations, collaborating for the protection and safety for all people in the world: a paradise for vacation, investment and for living.

The Consulate performs a number of functions, including the processing and issuance of visas, passports, legalization of documents and verification of national insurance pensioners. The Consulate also has repsonsibility for the expansion of trade and investment opportunities between South Florida and The Bahamas. The promotion of Bahamian culture together with coordinating opportunities for assistance for humanitarian projects in The Bahamas, including schools and social institutions, are among those areas for cooperation. Assistance to Bahamian nationals in distress remains an area of focus for the Consulate, which is also responsible for persons incarcerated within its jurisdiction and the coordination of the return of deportees.
The Consulate General of The Bahamas Miami's mission is to continue to promote the strong and stable economic, political and social conditions of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas overseas. Its main goal is to represent and protect the interest of all Bahamian nationals within its jurisdiction in a diplomatic manner and to offer and provide the specialized services of the Bahamas Government overseas. The Consulate seeks to maintain the rich and vibrant culture of The Bahamas through education, trade and investment and the hosting of national events. The Consulate is committed to enhancing the cultural diversity of South Florida through the promotion of The Bahamas' unique culture and festivals.
