This is hands down the best state county park we have been too in Iowa. Not only were all shower houses and bathroom spotless, but the trout stream, river access, playgrounds, trails, and conservation center male $20 a night more than worth it!!
Just a short drive from Cedar Rapids. No phone service which helps you reconnect with nature and get away from life's busyness. Trout are always just a good rooster tail away!
We absolutely loved the beauty and quiet of this camping place. I'm bummed we missed out for Memorial Day weekend. We'll be back!
Great family campground. Very clean and nice shower house. They have 3 playgrounds though out campgrounds. Also have nice hiking trails and a beautiful trout stream. River access to the maquoketa river and boat parking. The lower camping area by the river does get flooded so be prepared to move. The only reason I didn't give bailey's 5 stars is because of the "tent popping". Where people, mostly locals pop small tents to save spots. This make it extremely hard to get into Bailey's. It seems to be a little out of control and I wish the campground would only allow this in the lower campgrounds by the river since it tend to flood. This would allow more out of town folks to be able to enjoy this campgrounds.
Nice park with RV and tent camping, trout fishing when stocked, and trails. RV sites have electric only. Pit toilets in campground. Nice shower house by the visitor's center. Playground and pavilion for group get togethers. Take road past tent camping, around curve, and across bridge for more camping, trails, group day-use area, and trails.
Great hiking experience, was kind of difficult to find the cave, but eventually found it, and it was great! Beautiful park and nature was pretty. We also went to the beach area and used the paddle boats, it was fun but the water was kinda gross! Still had fun though!
Prolly one of the best lil campgrounds in iowa super shaded nice parks cool trails
We came here to find a place to do our coven new moon ritual. We were pleasantly surprised at all the areas we found to tuck away out of public view. The area is beautiful. Many of the cool spots are easily accessible, some even paved. The info photos along the trail were informative & I learned new things! We also found these pretty mushrooms, coprinus comatus.
Friendly staff, great price, wood available for a fee, good primitive and electric sites. Clean pit toilets. Small children's playground. Trout fishing is fair better when non busy season good walking trails through woods. 3 miles to town, 2 miles to a state fish hatchery for tours. Our stays are always good and will always go back a few times a year.
Well kept county campground. Nice play area for the kids. Restrooms: Excellent shower house. Other restrooms pretty clean for pit toilets.
