Formerly known as Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, The Art Project is a nonprofit gallery that brings free art education and outreach to communities across Kitsap County.
Founded in 1948 by a group of Bainbridge Island artists, BAC has a proud history as the first visual arts organization on Bainbridge Island and one of the very first in Washington State. We are also a nonprofit art gallery, which means that we put every bit of our income toward our mission: to encourage the creation and appreciation of fine contemporary art and craft by exhibiting and selling the work of Northwest artists, and by offering art education to a county-wide audience of all ages.
After 65 years, our original artists' pioneering vision continues through our gallery programs, community art education, and support for art in the schools.
The Art Project’s mission is to illuminate our corner of the world through gallery exhibitions, art education, and community outreach.
