It was my first camping at this location. Since it is a corp of engineers site, the rates are very reasonable compared to a private campground. It was nice and clean. I didn't get the chance to check out the bath house. Many of the sites are waterfront. The site was large. I did see some poison ivy growing on the ground close to my site, so beware walking around. There was a small sandy beach. The water in the lake was low, and it was a bit muddy by the water.
Greatest campground on lake Lanier. Pretty much every lot has lake views and lake access. The restrooms tend to be pretty clean but every once in a while you’ll find them pretty dirty. Very calm and relaxed campground surrounded by water. Highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
Large, dog friendly campsites on the water dock is land locked atm due to water levels Clean facilities with private showers in one of the bath houses. Peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff.Service: 5/5
We stayed in RV park. Tight drive thru a residential area to reach entrance. Good amenities. Beach access is clean. Felt safe. Several sites had private and easy access to calm water - great for kayak/canoe/paddle board access. 15 min drive to restaurants.Location: 5/5
Lovely campground. Very quiet during the week. The weekend warriors begin arriving on Thursdays. Spots are very well maintained. The only real downside is that the gates are locked between 10:30pm-7:00 am, with no places to park outside the gate if you need to come or go during that time.Service: 5/5
We backed into our site and thought there were no hook ups. The water spout was 28” high and the power was 33” high, and the grass was at least 6” higher than them both. The grass through out the campground had not been cut this year. We will not go backHotel highlightsQuiet
The bathrooms haven't been cleaned in 3 days, especially concerning since it's the July 4th weekend. Most stalls are devoid of toilet paper. Next to our campsite, there was a homeless family surrounded by heaps of household items. They had no tent, shelter, or camping gear. Despite the high temperature of nearly 90 degrees, they were burning scrap and shredded paper. The man had only bear from a box for breakfast sitting at the picnic table. On the other side of the campsite, some local campers decided to mow a large lawn all the way to the shore using their own push mowers. It was surprising to see individuals allowed to landscape their own sites by the authorities. There were no staff members at the entrance to assist with check-ins, and we didn't encounter any staff within the campground except for brief periods at the entrance. Numerous dogs were off-leash in various campsites and freely roaming around the campground. During our morning run, we were chased out of one section by a dog that was aggressively barking in the streat without a leash or under control of an owner.
We have camped here many times over the years and will continue to come back. Large spaces with ample room to run around and play for the kids. However the last 2 times we have come the grass is knee high and we had to bring our own mower and weed eater to enjoy the area with our kids.Location: 5/5
Did not rate rooms as it is a campground. Camping spaces are great. Nice quite campgroumd. My only complaint is the locking of the gate. I understand security, and there is a way to secure the campground and still allow access to and from without having to wake up the hosts. Simply install gates with access, cards, or codes. We live local, and sometimes, we just like to get away for the weekend, but we still have to work. When we need to leave at 5 am. to get to work, the gate is locked, with no way out, without waking someone up. A.C.E. needs to update. But never had a bad experience with service or cleanliness of the park.
The water of the lake was so clear and beautiful! Campsites are spacious. Most have awesome views, although a few are very exposed. If you want shade, do your research before booking!
