Baldy's BBQ

Some of the best smoked meats in the south metro. We had rib tips, brisket, and smoked pork tacos. The main course meats were all very good. The sides were of varying quality the green beans were soggy and probably out of a can but the fries were great and the corn bread was outstanding. They’ve got three sauces available and they’re all fine. The “hot” one was indistinguishable from their “regular” one — we thought the bottles might have been mislabeled. Service was slow and disorganized especially considering the place was at maybe 1/3 capacity but our server was apologetic and friendly. The dining room is low-key comfortable. They’ve got some great priced deals available for takeout only as well. We’ll be back next time we’ve got a hankering for some decent BBQ.

We stopped in after a quick search for BBQ and this joint was en route. Not that busy but it should be. Our server was so awesome and would've made the great no matter how the food was. I can't stress how nice she was. The wings were fantastic! Perfectly cooked, tender and juicy on the outside, a little but of a bite exterior and not overly sauced. The ribs and brisket were both very good, nice smoke flavor. The whole experience was to notch.

We’re local and had them at a graduation party and tried the restaurant. It was better than good and right on par for Minnesota BBQ. The older gentleman running the till was very helpful on making decisions on what to try and atmosphere was ok. I think we should of gone earlier in the evening as our meats were dry. I would go back and try again for sure. The BBQ Egg Roll was very good with the Carolina sauce. My wife liked the tacos and stated it was a huge portion. I think they got a good thing going there. I want to add, they did a great job on the Mac and cheese. Many bbq places serve dry Mac and this was not. Loved it. I’ll change to a 5 star if we can get some wet meat. Dry brought it down. Next time….

It's casual mainly sandwiches and pizzas..variety of beers and drinks. Very spacious inside. What I liked is the patio. It's big and there yard games on the sideFood: 4/5

It’s really hit or miss these days. Some days it’s great and everything seems well seasoned and salty — just how I remember it. Other days it seems like they’ve never heard of salt or pepper. I seriously don’t know who took all their seasonings when they opened up their second location in downtown Lakeville, but tonight’s meal was just so bland I had to complain. Please bring back your delicious seasonings and the salty fries.

Came in for lunch expecting fresh cooked food and got yesterday's dry leftovers that were microwaved and cold in the middle. You can tell when a good BBQ place puts that extra bit of love in their food this place does not. Not worth the high amount of money they charge.Food: 2/5

This is actually This is the first time ever been here. But this place Surprise shock me from the outside you can not tell what is it inside the building but they're having a good food and also they're having a good service for the customer too.Food: 4/5

Picked up a large order today for a birthday party. Overall everyone was impressed with the food. The beans had onions, peppers and other things to make them stand out from the generic style. Also the ribs were fantastic, lean and tender.Food: 5/5

The food here is very good. I first visited their food truck at Canterbury last summer and decided to go to Lakeville to eat at the restaurant. The service was good and food was served quickly.Food: 5/5

I used to live near Baldy's and had always enjoyed it. So when I was back in MN to visit family, we decided to try it out again. My sister and I both ordered their mixed plate, with 3 different meats, and we both had pork. Well, when the meals came, the pork was EXTREMELY dry. The waitress came back and checked on us after we got our food, so we told her, Both of us had extremely dry pork. So she want to see what she could do, and came back with small bowls of the same extremely dry pork. We told her those were also extremely dry, and basically inedible, and that's the last we heard of that. I figured she was either going to take off one of the meals, or ask if we wanted a different meat, but neither happened. When we got the check, there was no discount, so I asked about it. She actually said that she didn't charge us for the two extra sides, and acted like I should be grateful for that. I looked at my sister and we both were wondering, what extra sides?? We hadn't ordered any extra sides. So I asked, What extra sides? I was told the 2 small bowls of extremely dry pork that were brought to us to try to replace the extremely dry pork we already had, were the sides. At this point it was ridiculous, and I tried explaining we should have not been charged anyway, especially since those extremely dry pork sides were just as bad as the original extremely dry pork, and we ate neither. Well, Just enough to tell us they were extremely dry. Which you could tell just by looking actually So she went and talked to the manager, and the manager eventually came over and told us she took $4 each off our $16 meals for the pork we never ate. Which was something, but just ridiculous. She tried blaming the waitress for the dry pork for leaving the meals sit too long, but we saw the waitress didn't wait at all to bring the food once it was ready to bring to the table, nor did she wait on the bowls of pork. So it was excuses and no apology. The $4 was also a nearly meaningless token as well. So needless to say, my sister and my mother, who still live in the area, will never again be back there to eat after this experience. Treat your customers better, especially when you are serving things you shouldn't even be serving people. I felt sad for anyone else also getting the pork, as even slathered in sauce it would still be dry. So I don't recommend anyone go there.
