***The front desk at this Banfield location is horrendous. We highly suggest you go elsewhere.*** The front desk lacks customer service at this location. We came for a scheduled drop-off and the whole experience was awful. The doors would not open since drop off was scheduled before Petsmart opened so we called Banfield to let them know. The girl who answered our first phone call informed us kindly that the front doors were already open but they were not when we tried. So we called a second time, and another girl picked up who lacked phone etiquette rude. She said we had to "just slide the automatic doors manually.” My husband slid the doors but that was an odd thing to do but the way she said it was rude. Never had to do this for a scheduled-drop off at a Banfield. We walked in and waited until the girl at the front was free to speak to us. The girl then said something but we could not hear or understand her behind her mask. But she eventually spoke up and rudely asked us why we were there. But isn’t that an obvious question standing there with our fur baby patiently? No greeting was made and she should of asked us this question instead, “Does your dog have an appointment with us today?” Probably was cranky but not our problem. Advice to management at this Banfield is to train your front office to be respectful have good customer service skill sets upon hire. But it gets worse. After introducing ourselves she then replied rudely again, "You will have to wait because the nurse is not here. We cannot have your dog be taken back without a nurse's supervision." We never had anyone tell us that for a scheduled drop off. To us it seems like the staff is not in yet, or maybe the team is running late, but the tone and the way she said that was uncalled for. It sounded suspicious to us why she would say that. My husband, after that, decided that maybe we should just cancel the appointment at this location. Plus, we never had to wait for a scheduled drop-off, which was very odd to us. I then decided to double-check our appointment on the App since I had already saved the appointment on our calendar two months in advance since it was scheduled back in May 2022 when we were living on the East Coast. It was then that I found out that this location decided to change the appointment we made two months in advance to 30 mins later, so the time changed from 8:30 am to 9 am. How were we to have known of this? Next time call, email, or text your patients/clients about the appointment time change. We have never had to deal with something like this before. How hard is it to tell the patients/clients of a time change? You cannot just change the appointment without consent. It was then when we finally decided to cancel our fur baby's appointment in the parking lot. Overall, the girl's vibes were terrible and made us think that if this is how the front staff is, how would our fur baby be treated when brought to the back? People like her should not work in this field, and if she is unhappy working there then leave and work elsewhere. We will never take any of our pets here again, and sad because our fur baby has been here a couple of times pre-COVID-19; maybe because of the pandemic and staff change during the past 2.5 years is why the quality of care and service is like this now. Overall, our family decided to go to the Banfield at Lakewood and we 110% recommend them. Do not go here!
Took care of my 5 month old puppy after stung in mouth by bee. Great job at caring for dog and reassuring us dog parents!!
The staff is friendly but it's a corporate chain and it shows. You can't go to the exam rooms with your pet like private practices allow and their pet care programs could use some improvement -we missed the age 1 cutoff for them to cover our dog's neutering, without a heads up, and now have to pay out of pocket. A reminder would have been helpful. I have reduced my rating because after my initial review, the company responded with a cookie cutter response that failed to address my concerns or offer any solution and reeked of a corporate PR person phoning it in. I have lost all confidence in Banfield management.
Do not go! Incompetent doctor's. Staff that is not knowledge in dealing with large dogs who have never show any sign of aggression.
Do NOT go here. Our dog went in with an eye rash. All we wanted was a refill in prescription. They did a full exam and said everything was okay and gave us the prescription. That night she developed a cough. We took her to the doctor early the next morning, one that we trusted. She collapsed when we took her out of the car. She died 15 minutes later. She had severe pneumonia that she had no Symptoms of until we went to this place.
Almost killed my dog and didn't take any accountability.
Loved the ability to talk face to face with vet treating my beagle. With Covid-19, everything has been by phone or voice mail. Answered all my questions for my pup to get better.
