We have had many procedures done here and everyone has been done with such kindness and care. The nurse staff is on top of things and make sure you know everything happening every step of the way. They get you what you need and even short staff they make you feel comfortable.
My Niece was just moved from ICU to a regular room. I cannot say enough about her Nurse, Kelly. She has been wonderful to her patient and exceptional to our family. Thank you Kelly!
Rudest staff, don’t feel that I was heard or taken seriously, how do you run a hospital with no ultrasound? The male nurse walked out with door wide open with people walking by with my chest exposed during ekg, have to go elsewhere for proper care and treatment.
My husband is back in the ER after 3 days with excruciating pain in his leg, preventing him from walking/putting weight on it. The nurse "treating" him argued with me about how high his blood pressure was, tried to tell me it wasn't high at 198/99, and REFUSED to put a continuous BP cuff on him to monitor his blood pressure. The patient advocate will definitely be hearing from me.
Horrible experience with the ER at this hospital dealing with my daughter. The ER doctor and nurses were rude and unexplainable when dealing with trying to get her transferred to another facility. I will not return here for health care.
My experience with this hospital has been amazing! I've done 3 out patient surgeries here and everybody I've met treated me with the upmost of kindness I've never encountered a rude nurse or doctor Dr. Kenny did my knee surgery and I am so happy to finally feel better and my surgery was pretty intense and he did it perfectly I highly recommend this hospital!!!
Individual experiences may vary, I understand that. However, as soon as I walked into Baptist Health ER, I felt comfortable. The facility was clean, the staff was efficient, courteous and the Doctor was amazing. The admitting nurse was very professional and approachable. The whole process from the moment I went in, to the moment getting out it was very pleasant. I would recommend Baptist Health for anyone, not just emergency care.
Woman at the registration desk is RUDE and in my humble opinion, probably should consider employment elsewhere, preferably not in any type of customer service of any degree. Came to visit my sick family member. My 4 year old, my significant other and myself all donn PPE masks immediately upon entry due to myself being immunocompromised and having a three month old baby, to which she informed me that my 4 year old did not need one. My reply was, "yeah I'd just really rather him wear one though." To which she rudely and under her breath murmured, "yeah, whatever." Ma'am, you work in healthcare... In the middle of flu season, nevermind covid and everything else. If anything, you should be RECOMMENDING my small child wear PPE instead of scoffing and being rude because I prefer my child to be protected as much as possible so that he can visit his family also. I don't know her issue. I've never met this woman in my life, unless I were a patient in the ER which even sick as a dog I have NEVER ONCE given any of BHMG La Grange employees to speak to me so rudely. Any of the doctors would tell you I'm "pleasant", per notes in MyChart. ‍ Not to mention it is a hospital and I am pretty sure all medical facilities recommend and even make you wear masks so I'm not sure the where discrepancy lies.
Absolutely horrible E.R. department. None of the staff are friendly. The lady at registration does not care if you read or understand your rights, lies about giving you copies and was rude when asked for copies. The nurse was horrible and rude. She went to the middle desk and was mocking me while the others were on tictok. The hospitals cheif of patient care Andrea is condescending, rude and an all around ugly person to deal with. The hospital is still stuck on covid rules even though the cdc has changed what it has told the public and what they recommend a hundred times. You STILL need a mask to enter. Ridiculous. Also the hospital charges you AND you get a separate bill for the doctor working in the e.r. total racket! Go to any other hospital. This one is absolutely awful.
The hospital in general is good. The thing I CANT STAND is that EVERYONE at the hospital goes at there own pace and doesn't give updates on patients brought in. For example, I took my brother for kidney stones last night. He had been to the hospital that day and was released with a prescription for CVS. My point I'm making is they knew of him already because he was just there. So we bring him back and they take him into the ER. We sat there for 2 hours before being told they were going to admit him. They never came to let us know what was going on or how he was doing. The lobby had one other person for another person brought in and about 5 nurses and a couple receptionist. I tried to ask if they knew anything yet because it's hitting 10pm and my pregnant wife wants to go home and all they tell us is someone will come let us know. Didn't get on the phone to ask, get on the computer. Just left us sitting there with hospital staff chatting it up and walking to and from the ER. Countless, COUNTLESS numbers of times this happens. It gives you the feeling that they don't want to be bothered with giving updates to concerned families. It's ridiculous, my wife worked in other hospitals in California and from the minute someone is brought into the ER and taken back the staff has 15 minutes to update the family. Then the family is updated every 30 minutes after that. I think the hospital overall is a good hospital but the lack of respect for family and their time is just too much. Doesn't help that some of them act like your bothering them just to get info when you should be getting it anyways.
