Today, I visited this new B&N location for the first time. Emmy, at the cash register, was THE BEST! Just her energy, superb attitude and assistance made me want to become part of the family at this new store! Thank You, Emmy!
I was so happy when I discovered that a bookstore was actually opening rather than closing. My delight was multiplied at Barnes & Noble when, after asking a simple question of "Do you have a copy of The Covenant of Water", I became engaged in a wonderful conversation with the person who I believe is the store manager Yvonne or Yvette ... I'm sorry I don't remember. My purchase was then processed by a most cordial young woman who was friendly and professional. What a great retail experience!
I’m so disappointed that the large Natick Barnes & Noble closed, got rid of most of its inventory, and reopened in this smaller location. While it is easier to see the inventory with the new displays, entire topics and sections are completely gone. Variety and depth has been sacrificed in favor of flashy presentation. In the last few years, all of the large Barnes & Noble stores in the Boston area seem to be closing Prudential Center, Braintree, Route 1, etc and I’m afraid that soon there won’t be any left. Heading over to Burlington now to try to find a Barnes & Noble that carries more than the latest bestsellers.
New Barnes & Noble does not disappoint! Has a really great children’s section. The kiddos love coming here and picking out a book to bring home.
The new location from Framingham to Natick is a whole different atmosphere. It’s actually quite enticing and welcoming. The cost of books seem to have gone up but it’s worth browsing/buying at this new store. I love how the books are displayed, organized, and every section encourages a peek. I find myself going every week and picking up a book or two.
This new store is a short way down the road from the previous location. The staff are prompt, personable, helpful, and generous. I’m impressed by the selection and amenities chairs, restrooms, & lighting. Two drawbacks are the warehouse style ceiling, & the lack of an in-house cafe. Fortunately, there is a Starbucks two doors down, east, in the plaza.
Ecstatic to have Barnes and Nobles back!! The store is smaller but very accessible with parts of the store labeled with genre. What I especially loved is the collectors editions and unique finds in the store. Will be visiting quite a bit!!
The newest Barnes & Noble in Massachusetts is a great addition to Natick. This store replaces the one that was in Framingham in Shopper's World and upon first walking in -- it just smells fresh and new. The shelving is polished and most major sections are clearly labeled. As for navigating the store, it does have a bit of a maze-like quality where you have to weave in and out of sections in a relaxed zig-zag pattern to get to the back of the store which can be a bit unusual, but it does keep each section closed of which is cozy. The children's section is expansive and there is nice little LEGO table setup with some blocks for kids to play with surrounding by lots of titles both board books and traditional paperback and hardcover versions of titles. There is also a little shelving section shaped like a train for kids and their grownup to sit on to read. The toy section is close by with lots of options for kids of varying ages. The lighting is bright and while I do prefer a bit more of a softer lighting -- everything is clearly visible. I think I'm just used to B&N stores where the ceiling lights are further away -- but all the lights are mounted about 15 feet above the average customer. Not a major deal. For those looking to sit and read, there are seating options spread throughout the store, but I found myself missing a concentrated section with more seating. There is no cafe in this store unlike the Framingham location -- but this could be because this plaza has a Starbucks already not too far away. Overall, this new store still remains a spot my family and I will keep coming to and we are just glad that B&N has returned to a spot within 15 minutes of our home.
Great store, staff is very friendly and helpful. Store is very clean.
Very disappointed in the new style. No charm...
