Barnstable Canvas

Stay away. After agreeing to the work and giving a 50% deposit in exchange for completing the work in 6 weeks, I'm 10 months down the road without curtains or cushions. 8 of those months I got excuses, now Jeff has disappeared. No phone or texts answered for a month.

I had 2 small side curtains made for my 18' boat and they charged $400. I have done some sewing and snap replacement in the past and I know with the right tools and parts it does not take long to do not to mention 1 zipper pull was installed upside down. I do understand that because it is marine I expect to pay a little more but thought this was high after speaking to other people that have had canvas work done.

The owners are very nice people who take the time to understand the customer's needs. I have had canvas and cushions for two boats done by them and the work was well done at a reasonable price. Noticed a previous review complained about paying $125 when they expected $60. Advice - always get a price quote. Also, with marine canvas on Cape Cod, nothing is inexpensive. I have gotten some very high quotes, but not by these people. $125 an hour seems reasonable to me for a small job.

I needed a custom canvas padding made for a police K-9 unit made to protect the dogs legs. It needed to be soft, yet durable. And prevent the dog from sliding around in the back of the police cruiser. Jeff and Bob met with the officer , assessed the need and came up with a perfect fabrication. Thank you both for your excellent work. Highly reccomend these class act guys for any custom canvas work.

I recently went in to see Jeff at Barnstable Canvas so purchase a tuna fish bag. The bag exceeded my expectations and was made exactly to my specs. The quality and craftsmanship of this bag far surpassed the Canyon bag I had previously purchased and took up less than half the space. I will recommend these to all my fishing buddies. Thanks Jeff!

Brought in cover for small Bimini-pull tab was broken...guy looked around the shop trying to find pull tabs, no idea where they were, found a few in different places, none worked so I said I would leave it. He said he might have to replace zipper if he couldn't find a pull tab totally standard plastic tab, rest of zipper was fine, I said fine- it was a 6 ft zipper, he said it would be done in a day, I gave him my phone number to call me when it was done. I had to call him 4 times over 6 days before it was done. I asked how much , he said he had to replace the zipper....$125 fo a 6 ft plastic zip, single stitched....I have had zippers replaced before...$3/ft for the zipper material and labor totaled around $60...
