The vine struggles against drought, pests, or too much water; it struggles. However, rooted on each side of this vine is another, and they are both mutually dedicated to reach out and hold on to the weakened vine until it again thrives. So it is with brothers…
There are three of them, each with a sense of destiny and resolve to create a vineyard experience in Texas that is second to none. One could talk of land, grapes, buildings, fixtures, and friends; however, the real story behind Barons Creek Vineyards began with a father who believed it was important to guide boys into men and then allow these men to follow their dreams.
For each brother, the dream is different: one imagines a bountiful vineyard, another sees a gathering place for friends and family, while the last looks forward to new and lasting memories created nightly. These three dreams have become the collective vision that would make the father smile. Please join Mike, Chris, and Marc Chase at Barons Creek Vineyards and allow each brother’s vision to become a part of your experience. Winemaker D. Russell Smith, formerly of Becker Vineyards from 1999 to 2012, has created a stunning selection of wine in the Texas Hill Country. We hope you'll make a trip to Fredericksburg, Texas during your winery tours.
Fredericksburg, Texas was founded in 1847 by Baron Otfried Haus von Meusbach. The Baron named the town in honor of Prince Frederick of Prussia, who was the nephew of King Frederick William III of Prussia. Several years later a creek that flowed through the city was named in Baron von Meusebach’s honor. For over a hundred and fifty years, Barons Creek has quenched the thirst of many noblemen. At Barons Creek Vineyards, you don’t have to be a royal descendant to enjoy a good drink, but we’ll treat you like one anyway!
