My daughter had her wedding here this past weekend and it could not have been more perfect. The venue, food, drink, staff and our wedding coordinator Catherine were excellent! Organized and very efficient. Highly recommend putting this venue on your list of options. Would not have changed a thing!
If you're working with Catherine, you will be in good hands! I worked with her towards the last half of my wedding planning up until the wedding day and she was incredibly helpful. Very easy to get in touch with and work with. Everyone raved about the food! Both the passed apps and the plated dinner turned out amazing. The grounds were nicely kept and the venue itself was gorgeous. I felt that there was plenty of staff on hand to handle anything we needed the days leading up to our wedding and then the day of actually running it. To my knowledge everything went smoothly! I recommend this venue to future brides!
Attended the fund raising event for the Fbg. High School Culinary Arts program. The food prepared by the students was fabulous and the event space, lovely. However, with 300 people attending it was ear and mind numbly LOUD. We could barely converse with the guests directly across from us at our table. I would not recommend this event space for a large crowd until the horrible acoustics are addressed.
Swallows Eve was a wonderful wedding venue and this group created a magical wedding weekend for us! Our wedding party all stayed at the Winchester Lodge, family members stayed at Evers House, & then we had guests stay at the Herb Garden. All of these lodging facilities were amazing and worked well with us to coordinate all of our guests. It was wonderful to have our wedding party all staying together and able to spend more time together at the Winchester. We hosted a bridal spa morning at the Spa at the Herb Garden and this was absolutely amazing. The staff there were wonderful to work with. We then had a bridal luncheon at the Herb Garden which also allowed for quality time with my bridesmaids and our families. Our rehearsal dinner was at the Herb Garden and this was a wonderful evening. We had the restaurant to ourselves and everyone had a lovely time. Summer who helped coordinate everything at the Herb Garden & spa was lovely to work with and helped create a wonderful day for us and our close friends and family. Our wedding ceremony & reception at Swallows Eve was equally magical. The staff there have bee a delight to work with. Catherine is truly the glue that holds everything together and helps create a magical and truly one of a kind day for you. I can't say enough good things about Catherine and all of the wonderful staff at Swallows Eve. Their ability to provide so many things for your wedding makes it incredibly easy to plan an out of town wedding. I highly recommend using them to make your wedding weekend one of a kind. I had so many friends/family compliment our wedding saying it was the best wedding they have been to and one that was even better than their own. They loved every aspect about the weekend we planned and I know Swallows Eve and their team played an instrumental role in this!
The venue is beautiful. The ceremony area is so pretty. Although they do not have speakers available out there and they do not disclose that. They have food on the premises and the dinner for the ceremony was lovely. However, the coordinator, Catherine told our bride that she needed to bring her own food for breakfast and lunch on the day of the ceremony. On the big day, she proceeded to kick several members of the bridal party out of the kitchen telling us we were not allowed to be in the kitchen and that we actually weren’t allowed to have outside food. She threatened to take away our breakfast and lunch. The coordinator was very rude to several members of the family and of the bridal party. She was not helpful in the slightest in making changes to the decorations to fit the brides vision. The bride specifically stated she would like all of her vendors to be fed and cared for, she told the vendors they were not allowed to eat until after everyone else was finished and they were made to eat in the dressing rooms. They did not even receive a full meal. After the ceremony, she was overheard talking badly about the bride, groom and the wedding altogether. The venue itself is lovely, but the coordinator is unkind, unhelpful and a very sorry excuse for a coordinator.
SUCH a beautiful barn! I love the grey exterior and the huge welcoming barn doors. Not only is this property beautiful, but the owners and staff are so sweet and helpful. I love working with them!
I thought the property was beautiful and spacious. The owners are very nice and understanding. They kept my deposit when I canceled last year due to COVID so I could use it later on. The only thing that bothered me is that I had to provide the glassware for the drinks. This wouldn’t keep me from having another event there.
Swallows Eve was the perfect location for our wedding. We fell in love with the Fredericksburg hill country, open air chapel for our ceremony, & beautiful venue for cocktail hour & reception - all in one location. The Swallow’s Eve team especially Maria, Travis, & Catherine was extremely helpful with any and everything we needed. We did use the in-house catering and received a stellar customized Tex mex buffet. I absolutely recommend this location for any sized wedding!
The Barn at Swallows Eve was wonderful to work with! As a Wedding Planner, they made my job so much easier by answering my questions promptly and ensuring that I had the correct information to relay to the vendors. They were working on some beautiful landscape installations the week of my client's wedding and they made sure to have it done by the time my client's wedding guests arrived and it looked amazing! The bridal suite and grooms suite at Swallows Eve are really one of a kind. They are both decked out and the grooms suite even has a balcony! They have an incredible sound system built in to the entire space and the band was easily able to plug into it and use it which made everything easier. The grounds are beautiful and the location of the venue is super convenient to downtown Fredericksburg. I highly recommend this venue! I hope to work there again soon!
We had our wedding here on 7/25/2020 and absolutely loved it! We never felt restricted or had any conflicts with management. They have plenty of indoor/outdoor space and we got several compliments from guests about how beautiful the venue was. Also used their onsite caterer REVEL and were blown away by how delicious the food was. Definitely recommend to anyone planning an event!
