This neighborhood park is an enjoyable spot for all ages. Notably, they've recently resurfaced the tennis courts, greatly improving the recreational experience. For children, there are two well-equipped play areas featuring soft sand, ensuring a safe and fun playtime. The park offers a generous expanse of both hilly and level grassy areas, perfect for picnics or casual sports. Plus, the presence of accessible public bathrooms adds convenience to the overall experience.
This was a nice little Park not very big but nice. Located around houses and apartments this park was a pleasant place to have a barbecue. This park that is located in Ventura sits up on a hill with surrounding trees that is a also located near a canal. It is a good place to take a nice little walk or do a little exercise or even take the kids. Playground: Does it have a big playground but it has a basketball and Tennis Courts. Also nice walking area you can also play baby football or hook up a volleyball net or badminton net. Restrooms: It does have restrooms but they do close them up at a certain time. Dog-friendliness: Yes this is a dog friendly area just pick up your dogs mess. Picnic area: The picnic areas nice little pic of here is there benches that also have barbecue pits but I always take my own. They are well maintained the park was nice
Great park! The basketball court is fresh and painted, and you can take dance and exercise classes there.
I enjoy this park more then others in the area for a few reasons but the main being that it has a playground dedicated to kids age 2-6 plus the regular size playground and swing set. It's a great location and isn't typically overcrowded. It has basketball courts as well. Plus a little "free library" where you can leave a book or take a book. This is definitely one of the kiddo's favorite parks Playground: 2 different playgrounds, one for older kids and one just for 2-6 year olds
Well I love this park and will always stay true to it been going there for 25 years but the other day when I was there the depraved man came up to me insisting that he knew me saying he loved me and would not get out of my face and was driving a vehicle I finally got my dog and I into the truck and drove up he was so wasted I hope he didn't hurt anybody that night I couldn't get his license plate because I was so afraid but otherwise this part
Great place to bring the family and a great place to live if you're homeless!!
This park is one of the best parks in Ventura, lots of spacious picnic and play areas.
As with most City parks, the on site facilities and playground equipment are dated. The grounds and parking are serviceable. The best part about this park, in my opinion, are the people from the neighborhood who are very active and friendly. Everyone I've met watches out for each other and packs up their belongings when they leave.
I love this park! I have been coming to this park since the 80s. Our family calls it Dock Park because this is the only park we go to! My daddy and mama loved this park when they was alive!
My kids love this park. And I love that they have such a large open grassy area on top of the playground equipment. It really let's the kids open up when running around. Other parents and kids are always so friendly at this park as well. I think in the many times we have gone we have only had one negative experience when a 8/9 year old was being rude to my [almost] 2year old because she didn't have a mask on. Her mother encouraged her daughter's behavior. So we had a little chat about bullying a barely turning toddler. Surprisingly my daughter has been mostly cooperative in wearing a mask, even at 23-months old. However, getting her to wear it for long periods and one that actually fit and not slip off her tiny face wasn't always easy. Try as I might. And that particular day she just wasn't having it with the mask. I explained to the mother how 2yrs and younger not required to wear a mask, nor is it appropriate for her nearly pre-teen child to get in a nearly toddler's face like that. Other than that one instance, this park is our favorite park to go to. It's also really great for children's birthday parties. You never have to worry about getting there super early to.claim a spot like some other parks because of how much space there is there. We also loved attending the "Movies In The Park" pre-covid. I cannot wait for that to be a happening again!
