I’ve lived here since Feb of 2022 and it’s been an amazing experience. The staff is wonderful, the units look great, and there is a brand new dog park. There are great walking trails and the neighbors are wonderful.
We lived here for a year and right off the bat it was bad. They tried to move us into a dirty unit with a crack in the foundation. Thank God it was rainy so we saw all the water. I fought with them and they moved me into another unit that was not clean, my wife told the lady Kris that she would just clean it, no big deal, there was dog hair all over the carpet from the previous renter and the carpet smelt of urine, so my wife borrowed her sisters carpet cleaner and washed the carpet, she even borrowed a swifter from Kris to clean the unit, but at the time it truly was no big deal, my wife was happy to clean it to her satisfaction. Fast forward to one year later when we moved out, they hit us with a $300+ pet carpet damage fee saying our pet peed on the floor. When my wife called to dispute the charge and remind Kris we moved into a dirty unit that had not been cleaned yet, she claimed “the unit hadn’t been cleaned but the carpet had been replaced and treated before we moved in”. We definitely learned our lesson the hard way with this place, take pictures prior to moving in, lift the carpet and take pictures, because that was NOT new carpet that we moved into. They are dirty scammers who will take your money any way they can, very discouraging they cannot be honest. The lady Kris is very dishonest try not to deal with her
I am a current resident and not as satisfied as I could be. I’ve been living here since December 3rd 2022. I have a basement that can’t even be used due to water leaks when it rains. I have a “finished” basement and pay $50 extra a month. There are cracks in the foundation, cracks/holes in the tiles in the ceiling. Of course, no discount on rent being offered. Maintenance came out to patch up the cracks with the caulking/silicone stuff but that’s not working. I was told a company has to come out and fix the foundation and that hasn’t happened yet. There seems to be no rush or “excitement” about fixing this issue. Mold and mildew is a concern. Maintenance is attempting to say that with the type of surface I have in my basement, mold can’t grow on it. Do with that what you will….. I had planned to use the basement for my work space as I work from home. One morning I woke up to my cords in water. I had to move all of my office equipment upstairs to the living room area…It’s just ridiculous. They knew this was an issue before renting this unit to me. Of course it was NOT mentioned beforehand or I would have looked elsewhere. Have a jacuzzi tub that maintenance suggested not using due to possible leaks into the bathroom ceiling downstairs near the living room. If used and that happened, they would then come and seal the jets up. I love the layout of the place and the location but with these issues I won’t be renting here again next year. Update as of 5/13/23: the foundation company came out in March and there were continued leaking issues. The foundation company came out again in April and the assistant manager was present. The property manager states that the issue is fixed. We will see as it rains. I still don’t feel comfortable using my basement because of this and the constant bugs even after pest control. This just feels like a waste of money overall.
Went to tour these lovely apartments, and the entire experience was horrid. The lady who showed us around, Kris, was rude and a bigot. The moment we walked in the door, she made a disgusted face at us and demanded to know who we were and what we wanted, and didn’t even give us information in post. For reference, I was in a group with trans folks, and clearly she was grossed out by this. The apartment we were shown had horrible renovations, painted over mold, and even multiple non functioning bathrooms. We went to the tour hoping to put in an application, left wanting to make sure other people know how horrible it was.
We've had a wonderful experience living at Barrington Park! I use the gym often, and the facility is always very clean. We also utilize the walking trail behind our building frequently to walk our dog. The office staff is very helpful when we have questions and the maintenance team has always responded to our requests in a timely manner.
They are really nice units but they will charge you 15% of your total rent if you are even one day late. My rent is $1200. I owed $180 for being 12 hours late and they have never been willing to work with me
We’ve had so many issue with this place I don’t even know where to begin. When we first moved in one of our neighbors were harassing us and management did nothing to help the situation. When it got bad enough for them to intervene again they accommodated the problem and did nothing to apologize to us. When we finally moved out we had gotten an email a couple weeks later saying that we owed $300 for “damage” when my husband called and asked what was wrong they said there was a stain under the carpet and that we owed them to replace the carpet, when we left there was no stain anywhere in the bedroom where they claimed it was at, they said that anytime they smell pet dander they take up the carpet and replace it, that would be fine except our dogs were NEVER allowed upstairs where the bedroom was. They said they only take up the carpet if they smell pet dander so they don’t take up the carpet every time someone moves out so how would they know if the stain was already there before we even moved in. It has all been overall the worst apartment complex we have lived at because the management is awful. If I could give a zero star I definitely would
While the townhomes are nice in this area, the management team is atrocious. My in-laws have lived in this complex for over 4 years, and recently moved into one of the larger units. Upon moving, the management team notified my family that the contracted appliance company would need to come pick up the washer and dryer. These appliances are leased through a preferred partner referred by Barrington Park. When the appliance company came to pick up the washer and dryer, the management person Whitney on duty denied their "preferred partner" access to the unit to pick up the appliances because said staff member "wasn't notified" and proceeded to blame my in-laws for not properly notifying the management team, despite the fact that one of her team members provided explicit instructions to my in-laws and said everything was good to go. Thank you Rachel for being the providing this guidance Moving forward, upon following up with Whitney, she insisted that my in-laws were to blame for not follow procedure and if they didn't remove the appliances by the end of the day, it would be an additional $200 charge to my in-laws. Upon escalating the issue to a manager via email, Cierra spelling? called my in-laws, only to get into continue to blame my in-laws, tell them that they should be gracious for the "extra day" to remove the appliances and proceeded to argue and yell with my family. This is not customer service. While the homes are nice, the management company needs to clean house with their leasing staff, as these folks are not helping the folks they are being paid to serve. Keep Rachel, she rocks and actually understands customer service. Get rid of the other two. Please let this be a wake up call to anyone looking to stay in Barrington Park, as well as the company that manages Barrington Park so that these issues can be addressed and remedied. Also, in the first four years, this is not the first issue, but this is certainly the one that has boiled my blood the most.
Don't like to post these things but this is all I can do to warn others. Typical complex and trying to get deposit back. Had to pay for new carpet because of "pet stains" and worn out carpet which was not the case. My dog never ONCE had an accident in the apartment. If this happens to you, it's your word against the "professional's" word so good luck. Glad I have moved out and would recommend you look somewhere else to live. As far as the response by the owner, already talked to your management and got nowhere, hence this review. Not right what you did and it's a shady way to get new carpet put in. The carpet was no worse off then what it was when I moved in. I don't know of any "professional" that puts in carpet for the price you quoted and to be fair, you don't need to be a "professional" to see stains or wear and tear on the carpet. To lie to me and tell me that there were pet stains and "damage" to the carpet upsets me. But again it's my word against your company's which I will lose every time. I was a good tenant that always paid rent on time and for the past 6 months I lived there I was paying $250 more per month than what I started paying due to your extreme increase for the month to month lease. This is how you treat your good tenants?! Not good business practice.
I have lived in the townhouses for almost 2 years now and I have never lived anywhere nicer. Friendly staff that basically leave you alone, attentive maintenance. They give you plenty of warning when they need to enter your home. It is pretty cheap for the area and as a 27 year old woman living alone I really feel safe here. You will not find another townhouse at this price with this much space in this area. They keep the property looking very classy, even blow leaves away after they pile up on the grass. There is so much space in the townhouses, even a basement and I never hear the neighbors who have been very friendly. I am shocked to see so many angry reviews when I have had such a pleasant time living here. I imagine as long as you are respectful of your neighbors and the property and its owners and pay your rent on time you shouldn't have any problems living here. It doesn't feel like an apartment, but it still feels like a community with people out on their porches on nice days and others walking their dogs. My neighbor and I decorated this year for Halloween and sat on our porch together and passed out candy. Obviously not everyone has the same experience, but if you are a nice respectful person looking for a nice quiet community, this is the place.
