The Parker Playhouse is a brand new theater space in Barrington, IL, available for community meetings, art showings, dance classes, & musical showcases.
The space is named in honor of our dear friend and fellow patron of the arts: Marc Parker. Marc's dream was to continue to build the musical theater community in Barrington, through performances, events and educational opportunities for aspiring artists of all ages. Our goal is to create an intimate environment where participants will learn to communicate their artistic disciplines in close proximity to engaged audience, resulting in a more dynamic performance level.
We began collaborating on this idea last year and we are excited to let you know that construction of the space has already begun, our first performance in the Theater is right around the corner.
Although the space is still a bit "rough", we are moving forward with events, performances and presentations.
If you are interested in supporting the musical theater community in Barrington, we are launching a GoFundMe Campaign to raise upwards of: $ 30,000.00 for our lights, sound, technical equipment, web-design, PR and more.
Your donation will provide an outlet for artistic expression, a nurturing environment for performers to share their passion and a space for young maturing students / professionals to present and participate in community performing arts experiences. Our community has such talent - with your help - this can be the place to share it!
We have partnered with BHSPAAE: The Barrington High School Performing Arts Alumni Endowment, founded by Marc Parker. The endowment has offered to act as the main curator of funds. Meaning ALL donations will go through BHSPAAE and then be dispersed into The Parker Playhouse for ongoing expenses and build-out.
