Bartlett High School has a rich heritage of positive relationships with the City of Bartlett that has been enriched because of its location within the historic Bartlett Station area.
Alumni of Bartlett High School return as teachers at Bartlett High School, carrying on the unique traditions and giving back to the school and community which enriched their lives.
Alumni of Bartlett High School have served Shelby County Schools in various capacities including Director of Secondary Education, Board Members, and Curriculum Supervisors.
Bartlett High School is actively involved with Leadership Bartlett, the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce, Bartlett Education Foundation, the Mayor’s office, and the Board of Aldermen.
Bartlett High School is a high school (grades 9-12) located in Bartlett, Tennessee and is a part of the Shelby County Schools.
Formerly known as Nicholas Blackwell High School, BHS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the NASSP, TSSAA, SACAC, and NACAC. The school was built in 1917.
In fall 2007, some areas in unincorporated Shelby County formerly zoned to Cordova High School were rezoned to Bartlett for grade 9; 10-12 will be phased in.
Bartlett's mascot is the panther, and their long-time rival is Bolton High School, the wildcats
Curriculum
A full range of college preparatory courses and technical/career courses, advanced placement, and special education courses are offered. Included are four levels of English, four years of foreign language, extensive offerings in math and science, a television and video production department, full social studies electives, computer laboratory experiences, and fine arts (art, drama, and music). Additionally, production classes for student publications and a student-produced news television program are offered for credit.
Advanced Placement courses are offered in English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, United States History, European History, Calculus (AB), Physics B, United States Government, Economics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Honors classes include English, Biology, Chemistry, World Geography, Foreign Languages, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Geometry, and Algebra 2.
Technical/Vocational courses offered are Automotive Technology, Early Childhood Education, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Computer Repair Technology, Family & Consumer Science, Graphic Communications Technology, Marketing, Manufacturing Technology, Office Technology, and Construction Technology.
