I had a wonderful experience with a nurse Practioner but when I went to schedule a mammogram, they wouldn’t schedule without a CD from the prior mammogram. I have the doctors report that states there’s a 9mm mass from 2 years ago. So, despite being ordered by the doctor and doctors report detailing a mass, they won’t schedule my mammogram. I have reasons for not wanting to contact my last health care provider and frankly I’m sick and overwhelmed.
Incompetent. Deplorable patient service. They can’t even answer their phone properly. On average I’ve waited 30 minutes to talk to somebody and then got hung up on accidentally multiple times. We are new to the area and needed an urgent hip ultrasound for our six week old daughter. After our previous pediatrician faxed the ultrasound order to Barton multiple times, Barton imaging still claimed they didn’t receive her records. When Barton finally found her records two weeks later, a Barton technician then told us they “don’t do hips.” What a junk show and a waste of time. They should not have a license or be in business.
The service itself was not bad when I got my surgery in 08/2020, but the billing department has been giving me the run around with complete disregard of how it affects their patients. I’ve been on a payment plan since my surgery date and I have never missed a payment. I recently lost my job so I reached out to the financial assistance department. I followed all of their procedures to apply for this. Jennifer financial advisor helped me through my application, very kind and lovely. She told me not to worry that she would pass my request through the board at a 100% and I would receive a confirmation of this first week on January 2022. I instead received a final notice that I had to pay my bill in a lump sum or they will forward my account to collections. When I called the billing departments, they informed me Jennifer was no longer employed and that a new person, Mackenzie, was the new financial advisor. Cold transferred me to her to only get her voicemail. I called back the next day to have a representative tell me they had forwarded my account to collections and “made a note on my profile” and transferred me to Mackenzie again, and again I got her voicemail. I have left 3 voice messages on 3 separate days and I have yet to receive a call back or response from Mackenzie as to why is this happening? I will continue trying but this is definitely not the way to treat your patients, specially after such a long time of making payment without a miss. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Nice small hospital.
Best hospital experience I’ve ever experienced. From the moment I checked in for my back surgery to the moment I checked out a few days later, everyone I encountered treated me with the upmost care and respect. I’ve never had a better experience, a shorter rehabilitation time, or better results. Just outstanding!
This hospital was a terrible experience front to back. I cut my finger and needed stitches on a holiday, so the ER was the only option for me in the area. I was there for 30 minutes and was charged 3 thousand dollars for this. On top of this the hospital’s financial aid department refused to provide any financial assistance.
I would give a zero if that were an option. I am a pediatrician and have a good idea of the level of customer service is expected in a medical care facility. My daughter injured her foot and I called ahead and had to leave a VM. I arrived at the Urgent Care clinic on Hwy 50 and stood at the door following COVID instructions of calling first. I watched staff behind the front desk look at me while I called yet they did not pick up the phone. Then a staff member came to the door and told me to stand back so she could let another patient exit their car and enter. She was rude and completely dismissed us, not even asking how she could help us. I asked her if they ever answer their phone and she dismissed that question and shut the door. Hard to believe that we could not even get an urgent care to want to treat us. We instead went to Minden and had a wonderful experience at Carson Medical Center Urgent Care. Don't waste your time going to any Barton Health facility.
Don't go to the Barton ER unless you think you are actually going to die. Barton is a full blown racket who uses their position as a monopoly in South Lake Tahoe to charge exorbitant amounts for poor treatment. After directly expressing word for word that I did not want a CT scan to the doctor that initially processed me, another doctor walks in and says we HAVE to do 2 CT scans. I figured there was new information from my vitals that mandated this, but it actually seemed a complete lack of communication or reading of my files amongst those treating me. Long story short, I walked away from the ER feeling like Barton will process you as a payment, and not as a patient. The ER doctor talked with me for about 20 seconds after the scans came back in, didn't even show me the imagery, and then said you are good to go to someone else. Double think if you actually need to go to the ER at Barton, or can have someone drive you to a different hospital in Carson or Reno. I am severely disappointed in the treatment I received at the Barton ER, and committed to sharing my story with other locals.
Never had such rude service as I did with Barton Accounts, They mess up my billing, I have to go to my insurance to resolve, They then send me a new bill dated 8/11 that is still wrong and then threaten me. Stating that they have been sending me accounts for months. Yes ma'am but they are wrong... Not interested in listening just talks over me to the point that I had to put the phone down. Was quite happy to pay the correct bill but we did not get that far. On another point, Barton is in my network but use Out of network Doctors to provide services without your knowledge, Medical then refuses to pay. Warn people so that we can refuse to be treated and go to where our insurance is accepted at all levels.
Waited over an hour to be seen for my appointment. What is the point of making an appointment if you still have to wait over an hour? And the billing department is a joke. Same services at half the price down in Carson. Barton figures that your insurance is paying for it, why not over charge.
