It was a great place to watch the sunset. The playground has been upgraded so that was nice. Most camp hosts were nice except for the one lady with the white dog. She was rude to most, unless you were the few she liked. The lady with the short hair was so amazing and went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable there. The rude camphost lives in the bottom loop camping area, so I suggest camping in the top area away from her. I think the c and d loops. The bottom bathrooms were horrible and need to be upgraded. We stayed in the top section, which the bathrooms had their own toilet, sink, and shower. They were also coded. So those bathrooms were more up to date and much nicer. We stayed for a week. The fog horns are super annoying and is why I wouldn’t stay here again. They go off every 30 seconds and it seems like they get much louder at night time. Playground: Upgraded and really nice. Restrooms: Bottom loop ones are horrible. Use the top loop ones with the key codes. Dog-friendliness: You must pick up your dog do do. Some people are irresponsible and don’t leash their dogs. Picnic area: Covered picnic areas.
It was a very good environment, I go there every year. And if your sick of the hotness during summer, go to basendorff. It's cold and you can go to the beach literally everyday your there for. The view near the park area is spectacular! Playground: There was a pretty cool playground near all of the campsites. Restrooms: There are restrooms near most of the campsites for everyone's convince. Dog-friendliness: Alot of people bring dogs, there is grass everywhere but I do recommend cleaning up after them as well.
Beautiful fun and relaxing. Gorgeous views, ocean right nearby, and very dog friendly. Only downside was Campsite #1 has HUGE bright lights nearby that don't turn off, so it didn't get as dark as we had hoped. But we felt very safe! Playground: Cute and clean Restrooms: Clean bathrooms. HOT showers, almost scalding hot. But it wasn't cold! Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs, everyone was kind and did well cleaning up after their pets
The tent camp sites are fine. Some have decent privacy while others feel pretty exposed. We were in 21 and we sort of shared our parking area with site 20 but there were no issues and our space was relatively private. The bathrooms are a huge issue. They didn't refill the soap often so it ran out. There are no locks on the stalls and the showers only have frosted glass doors and very little hot water. You're quite exposed and while many won't care, if you like privacy while you shower this is not the place for you. We will probably stay elsewhere. Its location near the beach is great.
Electric and water RV sites with picnictable and greenery/trees between every site for privacy. Sites are, kind of small but adequate. Perfect location to walk right over to a beautiful beach! Right around the corner from Cape Arago, Sunset cove and Charleston Marina for crabbing or seafood restaurants. Playground: There is a nice playground with ocean view. Restrooms: Multiple private, locking toilet with shower throughout campground. This is so nice! Picnic area: Picnic area by playground with briquet grills and tables.
This campground is the most amazing place ever. My family has been coming here for nearly 50 years. My grandparents loved coming here in their late 80's. I'm now bringing my children here. My siblings bring their children here as well. We live in Utah. We travel here and purposely choose to stay HERE because of the location to beach, deep sea fishing business, clamming, town fun, city fun, laundry, safe fun park in campground miss the boat and merry go round- newly updated. This campground is well maintained, hot showers, clean flushing toilets, great privacy around most camp sites some newer ones are more open, less shade/privacy. I almost don't want to let everybody know about this special place. It's getting harder and harder to get reservations. But I saw some negative reviews. And people need to know how WRONG those reviews are. Most of the camp hosts are incredibly helpful and kind. They work all day to make the place great! If someone had difficulty with them, it may have been a bad day for them.
We go here every years for the last 4 generations!!! I am not in my 30s and still go here. I love the place and the sunset views are amazing. Beach is close and sunset and state gardens are as well. They updated the playground. But the bathroom really need to but cleaned and update/fix to make this place perfect. Restrooms: Showers are 8 to 8, not always clean. Mans was not working and woman's only number 2 was working with warm water. Number 1 was only cold water. Restroom are not clean most of the time and running down. One stall is closed, one is so hard to open and close that my kid could not use it.
Lovely campground - spots pretty close together but have some trees and stuff in between which is nice! About a 5 minute walk to the beach, but good to note that the campground sits up on a hill so the walk to the beach is a pretty steep walk down, and in turn, a steep walk back up. The showers are only open from 8am-8pm which is fine unless you have somewhere to be in the morning and are planning on getting ready earlier than 8. Playground for kids. All in all nice spot!
Beautiful campground. Well maintained, clean bathrooms. Showers need a little TLC but definitely functional. Friendly and helpful hosts. Maybe a half mile walk to the beach and it is stunning. Tide pools all the way to the left, very cool. Will definitely stay here again!
Nice campground in a good spot. Not overly spacious or private but well kept and still pretty. I just showed up and they’ve managed to accommodate me for a few days and extended through the weekend. Beaches nearby are beautiful.
