Monthly meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Library (meetings held at other locations will be announced on our website, local media, and our FB page). Each month has a different guest speaker. The public is invited to attend our meetings.
ABOUT THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
We are funded by the generosity of others, including member dues, donations, fund-raising events, and the Baxter County Quorum Court. Our organization is tax-exempt and donations made to the Society are tax deductible by the donor.
Annual membership dues are $25.00 for individuals, $35.00 per household, and $150.00 for businesses and organizations, payable in January of each year. Correspondence concerning dues, back issues of the quarterly, and other business matters should be addressed to Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society, P.O. The Society exists to promote interest in and a better understanding of Baxter County and Arkansas history and culture by:
Providing learning opportunities through assisting classroom teachers with material; hosting public programs and events; helping to preserve historic sites in Baxter County; and presenting talks about local history to organizations at no charge.
Collecting, processing and providing access to original historical documents and records relating to Baxter County from local government, business, organizational and personal sources and preserving this material in a properly equipped and climate-controlled archival repository.
