My wife and I obtained parking permits for Roaring Brook campground on two consecutive days in July, hoping at least one would be a great weather day to make a summit bid. The Baxter Park Inn was not only a wonderful place to stay for our trip, but they graciously allowed us to check out a day early without penalty when we were able to complete our intended hike on the first day!! They also let us grab breakfast goodies the night before our alpine start, since we'd be gone before the continental breakfast would open. Very very friendly and generous staff!! The inn is clean, very accessible, quiet, and safe. We especially loved the ice machine that allowed us to fill our camel backs with ice cold water for the hike! The indoor heated pool looked amazing, too, but we didn't end up using it just because we were so tired. The room AC was powerful and reliable, the shower was hot and strong, and the room was spacious enough to have all our gear strewn about without feeling cramped. The mini fridge was greatly appreciated as well!! Overall a really fantastic base camp for a fantastic trip
Good place to stay if you’re looking for direct snowmobile trail access, plenty of trailer-friendly parking and an affordable place to crash after a day of riding. Continental breakfast is decent and there is an okay Chinese food restaurant and a separate tavern Highland Tavern right next door. Overall, for the price and easy access/drive/rides to stuff around it, it’s a great pick for any snowmobile riders
My family and I stayed at the Baxter Park Inn a year ago and we are heading back there this weekend for our annual white water rafting trip. We were so impressed with this quaint little Inn! The staff is so sweet, helpful, and friendly and we LOVE the kitty cats in the lobby! My family and I had a BLAST in the indoor pool! We made up silly pool trivia games and still laugh about them to this day! The rooms at the Baxter are meticulously clean, the beds are super comfy and all the linens and towels are soft and plentiful. Based on our experience last year, we chose to return to the BPI, which is this weekend. I have also recommended the Baxter Park Inn to friends who are coming up to Millinocket! Great hotel! Great staff! Great location!! Highly recommend!!
We slept well, had good water pressure, everything was quiet, front desk staff was helpful and friendly! The cats in the front desk area are incredibly soft and cute. Rooms: Basic hotel room.
Baxter Park Inn is a family owned hotel; keep the doors closed so you don't let the cats out of the common area. It's 5 star in every respect - staff, cleanliness, service, and so forth. My only reservation is that I don't like continental breakfasts. The best thing about it is that it's in Millinocket. The sublime and idyllic picnic area on Jerry Pond is a mile down the road through the neighborhood. The town - pop, 12000 before the mill closed, now about 4000 - has broad empty streets and just enough businesses to keep you well-fed and supplied. Millinocket is an end-of-the road outpost on the edge of a vast wilderness called the Maine Woods. Baxter Park encloses Mt Katahdin. Then there are literally millions of acres of forested wilderness stretching to Canada.
Super clean family run business with a continental breakfast, heated pool, sauna, and 3 adorable cats. The friendly staff and reasonable rates make it the only Choice for me in this area.
Nice place to stay with a pet. I Always have had a good experience here. Very friendly and helpful staff.Rooms: 3/5
If you chose to stay here, ensure your room has heat; mine did not. Apparently they only heat the first floor so they can save money.
We needed a place to stay for our oldest sons wedding so our daughter booked us a room for the night. The room was extremely clean and everyone was so nice and friendly. My husband and I were very impressed with all the upgrades. Our two grandbabies especially loved the pool. A big shout out to Jessica and the crew in housekeeping. You all are doing an amazing job. We definitely will be staying with you all again.
