I’d give Dr. St. John no stars if that was an option for that. It took so long for me to recover from what this doctor did to me. Last June, I asked her to insert an IUD as I wanted to switch birth control from the pill to the IUD. I felt excruciating pain when she was inserting it and I didn’t think anyone was supposed to feel that way. Her comment was “Oh my goodness, you’re so sensitive for pain!” After the whole ordeal, they gave me an Ibuprofen pill. I sat in my car, at the parking lot and had so much pain that I couldn’t drive. I had to wait about 40 minutes to feel a little better. The next day I checked for the strings and couldn’t find it. The following 4 days, I had pre-labor cramps and when I called the office they told me to take 2 Motrin every 4 hours and call on Monday if pain hadn’t gone away. The pain wouldn’t go away so they told me to go there for an ultrasound and they couldn’t find my IUD. Even so, Dr. St. John “attempted” to remove it because she thought she saw the strings when she inserted water inside of the area to see better with a camera. She then, “dug and dug” inside of me with several tools that just made me bleed and feel even more pain. After all that and not being able to find it, she sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound found the IUD in my abdomen! She then told me she didn’t know how it ended up there and that the good news is that she’d be able to tie my tubes through the laparoscopy surgery she had to perform to remove it. I didn’t want that butcher to touch me so I said I had to go home and think about it. So I called a general surgery group that a friend of mine recommended to check on an umbilical hernia that wasn’t necessary to fix because it is small and I was born with it and they found a last minute appointment due to a cancellation for the next morning. I had the luck to find this wonderful and extremely professional general surgeon called Dr. Robert Davidson that agreed on performing a laparoscopy surgery 2 days later on me. He was highly recommended by a friend who is a doctor so I felt safe and felt like God put him on that frightening moment in my life to help me. The surgery was a success and he said I was lucky the IUD didn’t end up in my intestines otherwise I wouldn’t be able to have a laparoscopy and instead, he’d have had to transfer me to a hospital laparoscopy was made on outpatient clinic and remove it with a much bigger cut. He put the IUD in a cup and the camera inside the laparoscopic machine took pictures of the IUD and you can clearly see the puncture Dr. St. John did on my uterus. Thank God, it didn’t make me bleed inside. We spent over $1,000 with surgery, anestesia and doctor’s bills, and I couldn’t submerge in water or do any activity on that area of my body for 6 weeks. Only light walking and not carrying anything heavy either. I don’t want to try making money out of this terrible experience I had, I just wished she stopped practicing medicine so she doesn’t hurt other women like she hurt me.
