Wow this hospital is BEYOND useless. I thought it was bad when I came here in 2019 and they didn’t even try to help me but just today they refused admission for a very suicidal close friend of mine. Seriously? This place needs to be shut down. You would be better off driving to San Antonio or Houston for treatment. This hospital only cares about money - just look in the doctors parking spot if you don’t believe me. They all drive high end luxury vehicles while their patients struggle to pay the bills and find the will to live. They will not provide you with community resources or help you find a doctor or therapist in the area either. Oh and I had a horrible man in outpatient named Byron confront me about my personal private trauma in front of a whole group of people and say I was throwing it in his face. I hope this place is shut down and the employees are charged with negligence. And don’t bother responding to this with “hey we care about this call this number” no you don’t and posting that just makes y’all look even dumber.
if i could rate this place zero stars, i would. do not send your children here. the staff is rude and have a clear preference for male patients than they do for female patients. they allow male patients into the female ward if there aren't enough beds, which resulted in me getting assaulted and the nurse who pried him off of me only had to say "what did you do to him?" they allow male technicians into the female ward who don't even allow you to get dressed in private. the doctor fined my mother one thousand dollars just to check my head for bruises that weren't there. the male night nurse for group therapy was extremely rude, i believe his name was jeremy. nobody wanted to go to night therapy because of him. my therapist claimed i was faking my disorders and then denied it to my face when i asked her why she said that to my mother. they didn't allow my cousin to call me when her name was on the list of people who could. they never gave back to me the clothes that they didn't allow in the ward so i had to continue using the underwear that i had had incontinence in until they washed the clothes. they yelled at me for putting a sticker from an apple on my forehead. do not send your children or yourself here if you're looking to be helped.the staff do not care about their patients.
The reviews from 5+ years ago are pretty good. The most recent reviews are kind of horrifying!! I was thinking of am inpatient stay for my 17 year old but after reading the most recent reviews, we are probably best off not doing that. I'm scared for my daughter but the way this facility is portrayed is frightening, at best.
Whoever is working on 8/14/23 @2:15 pm front desk answering phones is not knowledgeable at all . Told me to google the information I was asking for because they didn’t know . I asked to speak to a manager because a manager should know the information I was looking for and instead told me there is no HR department and hung up on me. Called again6 times before they answered asked for a manager and wow somehow got transferred to a HR department. She was extremely rude and very unprofessional.
staff was rude, had favorites, made fun of me when i cried, lied ab me talling to my mom, wouldnt let me say goodbye, treat us like toddlers, act like were dangerous, does more harm then good.
the place was good ok^^ they help me and now im back at my feet i made friends there but never saw them again but i saw some at school the staff and nurses where nice andrew was my name and i made a nice guy he was a good friend to me his name was taylor or sum and i would go outside or in the gym to play and vibe/chill
This place is the WORST place ever. I was admitted once in November and December of 2021. I had the worst experience ever. They didn’t treat me like I was human. The staff was rude. The psychiatrist was SO rude and didn’t care and just prescribe me medications that worsted my mental health. It doesn’t “help” you heal. It just makes it so traumatizing.
Worse place to send a loved one for help, I was given a code the first day my mother was admitted with Ocean's and all of a sudden my code is invalid or it isn't what they have in their system. I can't even talk to my mother, unless she calls me first. How am I supposed to reach out to her or have her reach out to me if she's constantly being sedated with meds. I didn't send her to be constantly sedated and to be asleep most of her days. I sent her to seek help not have her zombied out. Nurses and staff are extremely rude. They don't get back to you when they say they do to resolve your concerns. I would've never permitted my mother to be sent to such a place if I had known how horrible it would turn out. Please read the reviews before sending a loved one, because it seems to me this place isn't as helpful as they claim to be. One day my mother was fine, the next she calls me incoherent because of all the meds they have her under, which resulted in a visit to the ER. I still can't get a call back to see how she's doing if she's gotten better at all. They have me in the dark on this and I'm growing extremely frustrated with it all.
this place is full of rude staff! i understand that only a legal guardian and the patient could go in, but for the legal guardian to be disable should be able to bring at least one more person to help. Over all they shouldn’t be rude about it ! You also need to provide some kind of help to patients that are diabetic! My sister is diabetic so her sugar can get low or high sometimes.. when she called us for her daily phone call.. she told us that y’all don’t provide any sugar free snacks etc.. for her.. y’all need to keep in mind that there’s patients that have this condition.. Understand that there’s protocols, but your staff doesn’t have to rude, and actually be more communicative!
When I went to bay view it wasn’t too bad, the girls that went their were very understanding about each other problems that they were going through and made me feel like I wasn’t alone, they were really supportive and made me have some good laughs: The staff were nice and helpful and make small talk with us if we were alone. But some of them would talked about the patients about their attitude, talk mess about them about how they don’t like them and they would make it obvious by laughing out loud - just acting like teens when their full grown adults. Thankfully not all the nurses were like that, some were very very understanding and comforting to be around I would say my experience was good. You just have to have the mindset to try and get better because if not you’ll just come out the way you came in, but It also is a great place to think and realize a lot of things in your life.
