Beach Live Fish Restaurant

At the borders of Buena Park, Fullerton and Lamirada, Beach Blvd. In the Zion Supermarket plaza. Korean style Japanese restaurant. Casual, family restaurant in predominantly Korean plaza. We shared appetizers, a sashimi with rice bowl, teriyaki salmon and sea urchin rice. Appetizers and hot tea come with at no charge. Everything pictured is what we had. The sashimi was very fresh and plentiful and the vinegar rice at the bottom was good. The teriyaki salmon appeared to be at least 12 ounces and came out tasting good on a bed of onions and the sea urchin rice was interesting looking and a tasty extra bite. The over all experience was good. It's a casual family style place that was fairly well full at 730pm on Sunday night but there was no wait. The total bill was about $48.00 for the two of us and we had plenty to eat.

If I could rate this restaurant negative stars, I would. My family and I used to frequent this place often, several years back. Service was efficient and friendly, food was always fresh and beautifully prepared, and the atmosphere and ambience would contribute a pleasant experience. However, this restaurant has been on the decline since then. My family went yesterday, and every single aspect of the restaurant failed to meet our relatively low expectations. All we could ask for was a restaurant that served fresh food without too many distractions. What we experienced was completely the opposite. Not only was the service so slow and deceptive, the fish we ordered was NOT fresh; it must have been at least a week old for the fish to be so rotten. There was loud Korean and American music playing at the same time, the chefs were not following hygienic protocols behind the sushi bar, and we all went home with upset stomachs by the end of the night. I usually don't leave reviews, but this experience was incredibly negative and harmful to us, and any and all patrons considering dining here. We used to be a big fan, but we were more than disappointed by this restaurant yesterday.

Place was nice and cozy. I definitely love their lunch special and the sea urchin!

The sushi is fresh. The bento box is good. However the prices have been increased and slightly less people come for the lunch recently.

This place is seriously understaffed!!! That being said, if you come here at the right time or have a likable Korean group you're in luck. A variety of dishes were provided extra with my meal and I enjoyed every one. We had the large sashimi combo and were satisfied with the quality and selection. It wasn't the best, but it was highly enjoyable. I can see this place having very mixed service. Very good for others and not for some.

So you like fish? You want it fresh and feel like you're getting value? Try this place for a different sashimi experience! This is only the 3rd time coming here, but the fish is fresh. I recommend the combo. It gets a plate of sashimi. I usually get the mixed fish so I can get variety. The tuna is so fresh, it melts in your mouth. You also get rolls, side dishes banchan, fish soup it's spicy!, Uni rice bowl it's an experience and a treat! Fresh Uni in it's shell!!!, tempura, and a few more items. You can also pick either a large bottle of beer or soju. Get all this for the price that you normally have to shell out at a night out on a sushi place.

Our family ordered Sashimi Special Combo Large to-go. At the time of pickup, the guy told us they were out of sea urchin so they substituted with something else. Typically, you choose between sea urchin rice or roe rice, so we assumed he gave us roe rice instead. We come home and open the packaging. Here are the things missing: - roe rice - spicy fish stew - tempura - banchans that typically come out together like corn cheese, etc. - crunchy roll - bottle of soju/beer - bowls of rice for reals..? They instead gave us regular california roll, soy paste stew, and five oysters. None of my family members eat oyster, so thanks. Yup. Never going back.

Do yourself, your friends and your family a big favor by avoid this restaurant at all cost. They arrogantly think they are the only sashimi/sushi restaurant in town. Small and tasteless sashimi pieces. Their sushi men are the worst of their kind. I would give no stars at if I could.

This is sashime top quality fresh raw fish slice will melting in your mouth restauraunt fusion with Korean food & way .not only taste & quality wise , relatively in general, compare with real Japanese neat & pure exactness , the volume & veriety will , make your eye poping suprise with satisfy. Simply try Lunch special then you will agree.
