I really enjoyed this beautiful park. Nice walking park with a water fall and nice river. Staff was excellent, I had one issue and they were right on it. Pool was clean and well kept. Not far from Amish country. Definitely will be back. I was in a little 19ft camper big campers may have some difficulties with not all 50 amp spots.Service: 5/5
I suspect that in its heyday this was a fantastic spot. Not that it's bad now, it just missed the mark relative to its potential. There are a network of trails and stairs, some of which are closed, not the least of which is the one that goes to the waterfall and the cave for which the site is named. The cave was also closed. There are limited transient sites for those seeking full hookups, but if you're okay with 30A electric and water you'll have plenty of options. The roads are all dirt, which is probably pretty lame when it's rainy. The pool is nice, and seemed well maintained. In general, this is the kind of campground we've come to expect from Thousand Trails - adequate, but not at all exceptional.
Nice, quiet campground with decent sized sites. Dirt roads but well maintained. Love the walking paths and landscaping. The camp manager was very responsive to a minor issue we had and made sure it was taken care of right away. The laundry facilities and restrooms were clean and nice. The campground store includes many common food items in addition to the normal campground store items. We would come back in a heartbeat.
This was one of the best TTs we have stayed at - the facilities are immaculate, great community room, nice pool, right on the river - fish away! The customer service was top notch - everyone was so accommodating to us. We appreciate them!Rooms: 5/5
Absolutely Horrible Tent Camping Experience! Tent campers are put on one little section with not enough picnic tables or fire pits in a little cramped area! We arrived late and got in through the gate. We found our site and it had no fire pit or picnic table. I called the Manager Yolanda She did pick up the phone after hours but She wasn't on site so she couldn't help me with a Fire Pit or Table! I was very upset paying $54 per night with no Amenities! I threatened to drive back 3 hours to Indiana. Yolanda sugestended that I go set up on Someone else Permeated RV site at the other end of the park? I told Her I wanted a refund and I didn't have any options so that was ok for the night. I did talk with Yolanda the next day She was nice but I never did get a refund and we stayed on the same Seasonal RV Site for the next day also! Not a good place to Tent Camp!!!
Revised. This Lake front campground was a campground worthy of visiting back in its heyday. The falls access is blocked off and looks like it suffered storm damage. Thousand trails PLEASE step up $$ and restore this historic campground back to its original glory!! The showers down below are in horrible condition. Camp, shower, and laundry on upper level. NO cell - NO free internet. No activities. Clubhouse was closed.
Highly insulted! My husband and I bought our first camper and wanted to stay close to home on our first adventure. We've lived in this area our whole lives and thought it would be fun to stay here. When we went to take a look, we were basically told they cater to their seasonal guests. That was after we were called "Random people". As in "do we let random people in here to look around?". Said loudly to a co-worker. If you want to feel welcome and comfortable, pass on this one.
Very poorly ran if you have to use the washing machines be careful water is very rusty and the machines smell really bad not sure why this is considered a resort. It’s an OK campground but definitely not a resort thousand trails someone should re-define why this is an encore parkService: 2/5
If you look online, it sounds like this place is open to the public. However there are no clear directions and it looks like it's walled off by a RV campground and you can only access it if you're staying there? The phone numbers to call for help are either outdated or automated. Don't bother unless you plan well in advance.Service: 1/5
It is one of the best places you can visit in the state. Take it from full-time travelers you will not regret it.Service: 5/5
