I loved our stay! The campsite was plenty large for our trailer, campground was very quiet and clean. The beach was so clean and opened. There was a breeze every time we went down to the water. Our favorite place hands down was sitting by the channel watching the boats pass through. We will be be back for a longer stay.
I took my child here to watch the sunset. Which was absolutely amazing. We parked by one of the free "grab a bag" stations for "dog waste". Unfortunately, some visitors decided they needed to leave their trash in that exact spot. Typically the park is immaculate and very well kept. It is so unfortunate that some people feel the need to trash such beautiful places that we have access to like this. So many people enjoy visiting our local beaches and to see trash all over, is absolutely disappointing. Not only for visitors but for the wildlife as well. I give the park 5 stars as this is such a beautiful and amazing place to go. But we need to do better as humans and the community, at keeping our beaches and dunes clean and free of trash like this. Other than stuff like this trash, caused by uncaring people, this park is a great place to visit! I have lived here my whole life and couldn't count the number of times I have been down here. I will continue to visit as long as I am able. We highly recommend this spot for your all of your beach therapy needs and to view an amazing sunset! Dog-friendliness: There are multiple stations offering "animal waste bags" for those who bring their fur babies down to visit. Picnic area: Bring a blanket and you have one of the most perfect picnic spots!

Love this beach! I've been coming here since I was a child. Also like to go down to the channel and watch the boats. Nice little walk way out to the big water. Highly recommend you check it out!
We Stayed At The Channel Park. Beautiful Views, Very Rustic Sites Very Quiet At Night. The Bath House Was Pretty Clean, Muskegon Lake Beach Very Clean. LOVED Watching The Boats Coming In And Out Of The Channel. Some Of The Sites Are Kinda Of Tight For Any Rigs Over 28ft. Some Low Hanging Branches Make It A Challenge To Park. But Overall, A Beautiful State Park.
The camp sites are wonderfully large and always cool under the trees. My son loved wandering through the trees and playing with the other kids in the campground. The rest rooms are large and clean, and the showers have pretty good pressure. And the building doesn't stand out and ruin the feel of the place. And the lake is literally right on the other side of the dunes. You can easily walk to them from almost anywhere in the campground. The only reason it's four stars, not five is because we travel in our camper trailer, and there are no water hook ups. The sites are not the easiest to get the camper into, so once it's settled you really don't want to move it. If you don't mind running to the public tap to bring back water this campground is almost perfect.
Absolutely beautiful beach to just stop and enjoy every time we’re in the area no matter the weather. Can’t wait to camp here some day. Ruth Ann’s Ice Cream shop was incredible as well I loved the lavender lemonade with boba!
Very pretty park. The bathrooms and showers in the channel campground were pretty nice. We could walk to a small beach from our site. The sand dune trails are challenging but fun.
Very nice park. We did camping over there. It was very good experience. Restroom was clean. We did see sunset from there & it was a great experience. Beach was nice and clean, my son enjoyed a lot.
First time at Muskegon State Campground and will be back! The camp sites are big but are on a slope. The sunsets are absolutely perfect on the beach just a 5 minute walk from camp. Restrooms: The restrooms we nice as well as the separate showers in the shower house. Dog-friendliness: Park is definitely dog friendly
