An excellent museum for a town of the American west. Excellent condition of displays, dioramas and actual artifacts of the local culture. Holly, a local curator, was especially helpful.

Join our local volunteers as they take you back in time through the history of yesterday's Las Animas, Boggsville and the surrounding neighbors in Bent County. Wander the original building and see locally donated items and exhibits depicting life in the 19th and 20th century. Peruse the Bell Garden and enjoy the beauty of the local flora and visit the old forge while you're there, but be sure you don't get locked in the old jail cell!
Incredible history, Pike, Carson, Festus and Ambassador Thompson. I had no idea someone from Las Animas was so detrimental in the history of our country.
It was nice to explore what kind of tools an materials they had back then to compare to today's machinery, tools an how they livedVisited onWeekend
This museum is also a great place to work. Without all of our volunteers we wouldn't be able to have such a beautiful museum
Wonderful museum with great exhibits on the history of Las Animas! Take the time to explore it.
As a museum, it has a number of items displayed very nicely. Also has literature of other items in relation to the history of the area.
