About

Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue is an inclusive spiritual community practicing an evolving Judaism as a path to awakening.

Mission

A joyful home for Jewish spirituality.

"Our Seattle synagogue is a progressive, independent, inclusive Jewish community. We're not your old-school synagogue. Try Jewish meditation at Shabbat services and explore the Jewish mystical path, also known as "Kabbalah." Our diverse community warmly embraces interfaith and LGBTQ individuals and families. Whether you were raised Orthodox, Reform, secular, non-Jewish, or anything in-between, there's a home for you at Bet Alef.Interested in visiting Bet Alef? Have questions? Bet Alef is the community I call home. Warm, welcoming, wonderful people who celebrate Shabbat and holidays together. Our inspiring Rabbi brings engaging topics that connect us to Jewish history and current day issues. A place for comfortable, relaxed spiritual growth or just for deeper contemplation. Come visit the mysticism, meditation and oneness of being that is Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue.
Our family has found Bet Alef to be a place of spiritual connection, learning and support. Be it watching our son becoming a Bar Mitzvah or celebrating High Holy Days as a family, Rabbi Olivier and the entire community has been amazing in every way. We are so grateful to have found safe harbor in the teachings and heart of Bet Alef.
I was wandering in the desert for literally forty years before finding Bet Alef. I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked into a High Holiday service six years ago, I've felt welcomed with open arms. What a warm, inviting, unintimidating, spiritually wonderful experience. And then there's Rabbi Olivier! What an amazingly talented teacher and guide he is!
Happy to call this home. Friendly and smaller congregation, fulfilling Shabbat services. Amazing rabbi, well learned and invested in building a supportive community. Diverse and kind group of people. Music is beautiful, simple, traditional.
I expected to drudge through Shabbat, for it to be productive. The music carried me away and I came out feeling good and lively and with a positive life message.
Welcoming, fun, yet intellectual community. All welcome here, and very impressive rabbi!
Amazing synagogue community and inspiring rabbi.
Friendly, open, spiritual.
