Hi everyone! Welcome to Bethany’s Style Aisle. I’m so happy you’re here! If you’re interested, here’s a little bit about me, fashion, and how Bethany’s Style Aisle came to be.
I have always had something to say about what I was wearing. If you ask my mom, she will tell you that from an early age, I refused to let her dress me and always wanted to look a little bit different from everyone else. I can’t pin down my style to any one genre because I am all over the board! I enjoy thinking of clothes and outfits more as playing dress up and each day getting to decide what costume to wear. On Monday I might have a popped collar button-down layered under a trench with skinny cropped pants and heels, and then on Tuesday be wearing leather joggers with a hoodie and high top sneaker wedges…there’s just no telling. I would have to say that my go-to look is a vintage T with a statement necklace. I like putting things together that seem iconic.
I recently graduated from college where I received a degree in dance. My plans were to graduate, spend the summer at home and then pack up and move to New York City to pursue my professional career as a dancer. With the big move fast-approaching, I realized that I had a lot of stuff that I would not be able to take with me. I considered having a garage sale to thin out my grade A loot, but thought there had to be a better way to sell these perfectly good items without making an all day, sweaty and sunburned weekend out of it. After a bit of poking around on Instagram, I discovered that there was a fast-growing community of insta-fashionistas doing just that! In February of 2014, I created an account without telling a soul (just in case it was a complete flop) and posted a few things to test the waters. I named my account @Bethanystylepage, and before I knew it, I had completely run out of clothes to sell! I was having so much fun interacting with everyone and running my “shop” that I didn’t want it to all end just because I had nothing left to post. So I began going to local consignment stores and hand-picking all of the items that would become part of my inventory. I continued running my insta-shop out of my college bedroom through graduation and into the summer. I then decided to expand my small, bedroom-run “business”, and turn it into more than just a hobby. After lots of thoughtful consideration, I made the decision to pursue my newly-found entrepreneurial spirit and see just how far we could take @BethanyStylePage. In June of 2014, lots of brainstorming led to the beginning stages of Bethanysstyleaisle.com! I wanted a place where my (extremely loyal) customers could more easily navigate my ever-growing inventory. Being a regular insta-shopper myself, Bethanysstyleaisle.com was 100% designed to meet the needs and desires of my online thrifting ladies! Since I only have 1 of every item, the website will help you filter through the items to help you quickly find what you are looking! You can search by size, category, and brand, making your shopping experience less dependent on me being glued to my phone 24/7 :) *sigh* if you asked anyone who knows me personally, they would tell you that I am the last person they would guess would be running a company. It is not what I expected or had planned for myself either, but I could not be happier. Have fun exploring Bethanysstyleaisle.com, and as always…thanks for shopping with me.
If you're a regular on @bethanystyle page, don't worry! There are a few changes here and there, but the heart behind the mission remains the same. We designed the site with you in mind.
Nothin’ but love,
Bethany
