The Bethany Vol. Fire Department is a Volunteer Fire Department covering approximately 36 sq miles in Genesee County New York.
The Bethany Vol. Fire Department provides volunteer fire prevention, suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services to the residents of the town of Bethany.
The Bethany Fire Department has approximately 30 active volunteer members that cover 36 sq miles in Genesee County, New York. The town of Bethany consists of a mixed residential and agricultural development. Bethany is home to a population of approximately 1,750 residents.
The department is a 100% Volunteer Fire Department founded in 1948.
They have annual elections to elect their Chief, 1st Assistant & 2nd Assistant Chief for the Department. A monthly Department meeting is held for the all members.
The Fire Fighters hold a variety of events throughout the year. Some of the events that they have are: Monthly breakfast in winter (second Sunday of the months Sept.-April), tours of the Fire Department and Trucks by Appointment, Open House.

Brush 32- 1994 Chevrolet 4x4 with 150 GPM/200 Tank
BLS 33- 2010 Dodge Marque 4x4 Ambulance
Engine 34 - 1998 4-Guys with 1250 GPM/1000 Tank
The Bethany town board members have recognized the BFD as the primary emergency service provider for the town of Bethany.
The Department owns the property, building and all the equipment used, in the protection of life and property, giving the Department and its members 100% control of the operation of the Department and the fire protection it provides.
