My parents, grandparents, among other family are buried at Memorial Park. The entrance road from Madison Ave. is in terrible condition. It's buckling and pothole-ridden. On the advice of a family member, I visited recently. My relatives all have the low, flush brass markers to make mowing easier. The grass, on the day I visited, was about 6 inches high and mostly crabgrass and weeds. My parents marker was mostly covered by long, loose grass. My grandparents marker had a lot of soil & earth covering it to the extent it was difficult to even locate. The soil on their marker was now growing grass. It was on the verge of becoming virtually invisible. I could not find the term "perpetual care" on their website. It's no wonder.
It is easy to rate a cemetery. Take a drive through the place, you will notice the potholes in the road, dead trees, deteriorating brick sign and stone wall entrance way and if you look at the older mausoleum you will notice the marble inside being held up with ratchet straps and 2x4s and some other problems that have been there for many years.
Stopped by to visit my grandparents' gravesite on 8/21/19 on my way to upstate NY. Being that I live on the Jersey Shore, I have not been here since my grandmother's funeral in 1989. The staff was very helpful in locating their site.
Very helpful and very courteous people to deal with have no complaint. Very helpful and they make things easier and smooth for you .
