I was looking for Macaloney’s Caledonian Distillery "Glenloy". Voted best Single Malt Whisky in Canada. They were sold out!
Tonight I went to this liquor store on my way home from w my sister as it was on the way and I come in here fairly often and I was served first, got my ID checked and was fine and then waited for my sister to get to checked out as well mind you me and her are 20 and identical twins and this elder cashier lady refused to accept her ID; a drivers license and her birth certificate. I worked at a liquor store myself and those are both valid ID. A younger clerk came over and said we were good bc she’s seen and served us before and told the elder lady that a birth certificate is valid and yet this older lady still refused to serve my sister. Honestly respect to the younger clerk, she did what she could and was super sweet, I personally wouldn’t want to get involved with that elder cashier if I didn’t have to either. But really ridiculous the elder lady wouldn’t accept my sisters ID, even my service card was expired yet she still served me?
Been in here a few times and never had a problem. Went tonight and the cashier helped my TWIN sister, and then I was next. She refused to serve me as she believes my birth certificate alongside drivers license was not valid. Cashiers coworker, nice girl who has served me before, recognized me and came over to see what was happening, I explained and she told her coworker that my ID was valid. Her coworker was very adamant that it was valid and insisted I search for other pieces of ID. When I have two legal valid pieces and she helped my twin sister and her coworker was telling her otherwise. Was extremely frustrating so I said I would just go somewhere else cowichan commons liquor and more, I go there frequently and very much like the man, Carl, who works there. Such a sweet guy. Glad I could fall back on my favourite liquor store after this ridiculous encounter with the middle aged unreasonable lady at Beverly Liquor.
Website doesn't have any inventory, there's a weird order form if you magically know what they have. You can't order to pick up the same day. You can't even call and pay for a bottle for someone to pick up -- pretty basic function of a place that looks like it wants to be a specialty store. Staff not very helpful.
After nothing but awkward shopping experiences, care of Covid. The staff here were wonderful. Great products and helpful staff.
Great selection of beer and other liquor. It is my go to place to buy a variety of beers and wine because the selection is evolving with the seasons.
Store is bigger than seems from the outside. This allows the store to provide more of a variety. Always clean wen I was there. A couple of times the cashier was not as smiley, this could have been due to the heavy flow of customer traffic.That doesn't affect the taste of a great beer on a hot day after work Thanx Beverly Corners.See you again soon
Easily the best selection of beers and spirits in the area. I am not a wine guy but, based on the store layout, if wine is your thing they got that covered as well. Unfortunately, like a lot of places on Vancouver Island, the American micro brews are limited. However, if you are looking for local Vancouver Island micro brew options, this place is your best bet.
Great selection of craft beer and all the tall cans were refrigerated. The mix and match 4 pack was really convenient.
Great selection here... always something on sale, which is a great way to try something new...staff are friendly and very helpful... plus you get rewards points which are great to redeem once year like Xmas, when we tend to go thru more.
