We only saw a small part of it but we had a nice walk in the woods and found the nature center. We will explore further on our next visit. The weather was not cooperating.
Great park for hiking as the trails are mostly in the woods. You can get a little bit of a cardio workout since you will be going up and down some inclines as there are many natural ravines throughout the woods. The hemlocks trail is one of my favorites. I recommend doing that trail in a clockwise direction so you go down the steep sets of steps rather than climbing up them. The wildflowers trail also has some steps, and while those don't have any handrails they aren't very steep and look like they have recently been redone so they are in good condition. Overall, the trails were in good condition although you have to watch out for tree roots. The park has some nice rental facilities including the Deep Woods Lodge which is located at the edge of the woods next to a parking lot and looked really beautiful and modern. There are also a couple lean-to areas for camping and one really nice modern cabin that is sort of a treehouse design. The park also has some bike trails and a couple ponds. The Meyer Center building has paper trail maps available which can be helpful as many of the trails are connected to each other and can be a little confusing. If you are headed to the park from Clark Road, just be aware that the first half mile or so of Robinson Road is in pretty rough shape and you will need to go slowly and dodge a lot of chuck holes, but the road then becomes very smooth to the park entrance.
Used to be a private community with a club house, on the lake. Now its a Geauga Park and part of its a nature preserve. Lots of rules compared to the past. No more club house, but a cabin like structure with fire place and toilets near by. Lake is beautiful all year round.
Stayed at the treehouse campsite. Had a great time hiking the trails and camping out. Staff was amazing and Ranger was very cool. Restrooms: Restrooms was a little bit of disarray
Very peaceful. Has a vast number of activities available to see the great out doors. Fishing, bird watching, camping, volleyball, hiking, picnicing, playing, walking, and so much more. Free parking! And multiple shelters to eat at.
Went to check out the MTB trail. I enjoyed it. I have to go back and ride the Tuesday Thursday Saturday direction. A little sketchy at points and could really be fun with the addition of a few berms on some of the downhills.
Nice clean park but....I wish the restroom outhouse style wasn't so disgusting, it is obvious they know...due to 10 air fresheners. It needs ash, lime, woodchips etc to help get the decomposition or get it pumped out.
Watched a video on big creek bike trial and they said it was a 2 out of 5 for difficulty, but at some times for my 8 year old son and me it was an 4/5 or 5/5 for difficulty. My son and I do pump tracks. There were no signs as to how far we had traveled. Would not recommend for beginning bikers.
Accessable trails, asphalt, dirt and board walk. Not too hilly. Good for walking and running. Different length of trail. Dirt bike trail for kids. Climbing rock.
Great park for all kinds of things to do. - camping, hiking, fishing, just relaxing etc.
