I was in line with cart full, gentleman behind me had 2 items. I offered for him to go before me. He declined saying he works there was going on break. He realized the customer ahead of me at register might be a few minutes. So he got out of line. Logged back into his register and checked me out, delaying his break time. I appreciate his consideration for providing such great customer service
I spent over $1000 in two days shopping at Big Lots. Had I known how disrespectful the manager Demon was, I would have never stepped foot in that store or any of Big Lots locations just because of how he treated me. I purchased a pool and a tent, which were both defective, tried to return them, and had my receipts for everything. The manager, Demon Stapleton store number 1660, told me to leave the store and stated to call the number of the box; we don't take back pools or tents. As you know, this was never explained at the time of purchase. I have never dealt with a manager like this, who clearly needs more training on customer service. He is bad for business and will lose a lot of customers with his rude and dismissive attitude. This is not how you treat someone who spends money in your store. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.
The store is very big and has a lot of items to sofas, food toys and stuff for pets. There were some good sales, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
I bought a dresser a few months ago, it was a final sale; however, I didn’t imagine that 3 months later it will be falling apart. I do not recommend their final sale furniture, customer service wasn’t the greatest when I called to let them know that their quality isn’t the best
It was my first time there, so i was unfamiliar with the store and its items so I had lots of questions and the staff couldn't have been any nicer, they never once made me feel like a bother, in fact a couple of times the associate took the time out to accompany to where the item was. When inquiring about a furniture item, the young man who was the man working that area, was friendly and respectful. I've had a bad experience, Walmart on Flatbush being a very recent experience, but in my humble opinion, big lots has hired well, give those folks a raise!
I go to big lots to get the essentials as long as they are not out dated. Some furniture are worth buying like the back yard gazebo's but there is also a lot of stuff there that are cheap meaning they break easily.or won't last as long for the price and are not worth buying. So, shop smart when you walk into this store.
Although i luv the prices and items at the Newington store, they could make the shopping experience much much better by adding prices to the merchandise. No one wants to visit a store only to find that the items do not have prices on them. The customers should not have to track down a price checker to confirm a price on an item *especially when one of the price checkers is not working*. However, the staff is very nice and the store is very clean. The cashiers are fast and nice as well.
The customer service was very good, they checked a sale for me very quickly and it was easy to find assistance. The store was a little unorganized and things weren't where I expected them, but it wasn't difficult to find everything. Most people had masks on.
Lexi and Jennifer were great in trying to resolve my coupon not properly working. Staff is always friendly n helpful.
I wander through here sometimes when my girls are looking at Fabrics next door at Joanns. This place has a little bit of everything from clothing to food to Basic Hardware to cleaning supplies to furniture. The staff ranges from friendly to indifferent, just like it any place. The store could use a decent cleaning but overall seems like a good place to shop. Prices in general look to be very good. Plenty of parking in the large parking lot in the plaza.
