Bjs is just okay. Definitely has gone downhill. Last couple times only self checkouts open which is impossible to manage with small kids and an overflowing cart. Also was approached 3 different times by 3 different sales people to buy solar panels and home improvement. Huge turn off and Definitely made me uncomfortable. I'm trying to price check diapers and shampoo leave me alone!
As a BJ's customer I pay a membership,I don't think I should be hounded by AT&T sales people everytime I walk in the door. Today I was approached two different times by two different groups of sales people all from AT&t as I'm trying to shop.Might not sound like a big deal but I find their sales tactics rather annoying. Went to customer service the girl said to me well they're here . I asked her what's more important your customers or AT&t?
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Items generally in stocks. I have a great experience everytime I go. Additionally if you need to returns procedure is efficiently done. 5 star service
I’ve been a BJ’s member for nearly 40 years. I tried The Sam’s Club for a short time but I like the quality of the products at BJs better Things have become a little more expensive and they don’t have quite the same amount of coverage since COVID, but the employees I have interacted with work very hard. Shout out to Hope she works hard to make sure the lines are moving, Brianna, Shawn, Dana and those ladies on the front end. I also am impressed with the New Manager Anthony. Great Job Chesapeake you truly aim to please.
Just craziness!!! Such a bad decision on Bj's part. Why would you but raw meats next to vegetables? Big health code violation. Definitely canceling my membership. I have a photo but they wont let me upload it
One of the best places to get gas. Gas prices were $3.57 Saturday with the BJ's credit card and $3.67 without. Be smart and use their credit card to your advantage for the discount and pay it off, before the interest is placed on. You also accumulate points that will be converted into increments of $10 rewards after spending a certain amount and this can be used to save you some money on your purchases at the register.
We came here looking to get a membership, but wanted to give the store/experience a try before purchasing one. We reached out and was allowed a one-day pass to try the the store before moving forward with the membership. We noticed that a lot of the prices just met, or barely beat local pricing on items, but drastically limit the variety available. Local places offer the same, or better prices, and better variety for similar items. I was pleased with the deli section though, but they refused to cut fresh meat/cheese slices as the same brand/option had already been cut the day of or the day before and provided in the cooler section. After walking the store, we waited in the long line. They seemed extremely understaffed, one working a register and one working the customer service desk. We finally got to the front of the self-checkout where we needed an associate to bypass the card scan as we just had the day-pass. However, once they input the code, we were greeted with a 20% surcharge on the items. I'm guessing that is to force people into purchasing a membership as the final surcharge amount might come out to the same amount of a membership, but we were not ever informed of an extra charge after speaking with the customer service desk. Due to us not being impressed with the selection, prices, or customer service, we decided to cancel the transaction and go elsewhere. Had we known there would've been an extra % fee on the transaction for a day-pass, after explaining that we were looking to get a membership but wanted to test the waters, we would've passed on it all together. Overall, the experience was way below sub-par and we'll avoid any future membership.
Deli Platter = Delicious! Deli Customer Service = Repulsive A deli platter was ordered 4 days in advance of pickup 24 hours is required. Call was made less than 24 hours to the deli department to verify everything was a go. Arrived on time to pickup platter clerk said she didn't know anything about a deli platter pickup. Left store with platter 30 minutes later. Why the 30 minute delay, you ask? As mentioned, the clerk pretended to know nothing about my deli order. Then proceeded to leave the department looking for someone to help her "find" the deli platter. After a 5-minute dissappearance, she reappeared saying she didn't know anything about a pickup order and needed to contact a manager. She never contacted a manager though but instead walked around the deli department with her phone in hand. After stopping at the butcher shop she disappeared. A man from the back of the store came through the door of the cold room located 3 feet from the deli counter. He said the deli platter had been in there the whole time but the written order had gotten mixed up and placed on the wrong platter. What?! They had a whole two orders in that room and they couldn't figure out which was mine? No apologies from the staff nor customer discount for the inconvenience...only excuses for the staff's actions. FYI: Never order a platter from this store. The deli clerks are of the mindset that they are not required to provide good customer service to everyone...it seemed the only customers who received good service are those who look like them. I observed this while waiting 30 minutes for them to "find" my deli platter. Recommendation: In need of a deli platter? Get it from Food Lion, Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth. Their deli staff is pleasant and willing to go that extra mile. And believe me, it is appreciated when you are on a schedule and need to pick up your order ON TIME.
Well stocked friendly staff, lots of parking.
One of perks of buying tires from BJs is road hazard is built in the price of tires but it is only good if they ,BJ has personnel to work the service Dept. The last few times there is only ONE person working the service Dept. It does not matter if you have an appointment-you wait until the mechanic can get to you or leave. I'm not sure who to blame-management only having ONE person in the shop not caring if there is an accident leaving their personnel to survive on their own or the tech for allowing it. All I know is BJ's business practices is going down hill. Not sure if I will stick around much longer
