Always big plates with great food. Delicious. ** Edit: This used to be all of the above mentioned. I The food has barely any flavor. My boyfriend got what was supposed to be the biggest breakfast, but my Meat Lovers Omelette I added avocado plate was bigger. The waitress was really nice and took very good care of us.
I have been to Black Bear, Rohnert Park many times. I have always found it to be excellent. food, service, portions. I have never left there hungry. Everything I've had was very good, but you must try the pot roast at least once. It is awesome. Sincerely, Kevin -- Cotati, CA
Back in 1995, the first Black Bear Diner opened in Mount Shasta. Since then, over a hundred more have opened in different states. My wife and I just visited the one in Rohnert Park. The diner strives ro make people feel at home. They want you to feel like they invited you to dinner and they worked hard all day to prepare it. My wife ordered a Tri-tip and egg breakfast, while I had a Tri-tip sandwich and coleslaw lunch. We both really enjoyed our meals. The diner was very busy when we got there, but we were seated right away. Everywhere you look, there are bear carvings, pictures, stuffed animals and murals of bears. The inside of the diner is like being in a log cabin. It is great place for the whole family.
I came in here a few days ago and service was good, food came fast, but I could not get over how extremely cold it is every time I come in, even colder than outside. The last two times weren’t as cold as this but this time I thought it would warm down after a bit but it only got colder. I was unfortunately told nothing could be done about the temperature. I’d love to keep coming here but cannot due to my medical condition and their lack of heaters for customers’ comfort.
Overall good. Great service, it’s good to see the manager on the floor helping out. Facility and bathrooms very clean. Items needed for improvement include: The facility heat was off, it was 60 degrees in the restaurant- very cold. The water for tea and oatmeal was Luke warm. Good food along with huge portions.
I ordered food to go and they burnt my pancakes. I tried to call the manager blew me off and then she said she’ll call me back took my number and never did. Horrible customer service who serves burnt pancakes and they knew they were burnt because the burnt sides were down.
We received 2 meals from family and 3 pies. Meatloaf was terrible along with sweet gravy. Chicken nuggets good looked like half the fries were missing. The chocolate pie and apple cobbler need extreme help. And this was 80.00. Little cease for dinner 12.00 was the bomb
I got the chicken fried steak for breakfast. I sat and watched the waitress bring my plate to the person sitting in the next booth over. He told her that this is not what he ordered then she picked the plate up and brought it back to the kitchen counter. After she served them she went back and got my plate off of the counter and brought it to me. I think the manager should be aware of this. Ordered wheat toast got stale sourdough instead. Hash browns where burnt Chicken fried steak the meat tasted terrible. Burnt coffee as well. I've been here before in the past and it was good but i think they have some work to do to be better.
Slow service. No attempt to take drink orders in order of arrival or seating. Food was mediocre and served lukewarm at best. They seem to think that corned beef hash should be made from large pieces of tough shredded red meat, no flavor, just sort of reddish in color and slightly more tender than rubber bands. The knife would barely cut the stuff. This location actually finished behind the Simi Valley location in overall quality and satisfaction, did not think that was possible. Really unfortunate as we drove 13 miles to breakfast here. These diners seem to be a hit or miss proposition. To be totally fair one grandson liked his waffle and the other got the breakfast burrito which he shared with me. Their chorizo was quite tasty really. I'd have exchanged my hash for this but it took 20 minutes for his burrito to come out of the kitchen after the rest of us were served, and I was not in the mood to spend anymore time here than necessary. The server seemed overwhelmed. I'd just keep driving if it were me and a do over was possible. This visit was on 12/18/2022
I ordered the hot turkey sandwich through Door Dash. I was very disappointed. There was no cranberry sauce. The gravy was only on the mashed potatoes. The point of a hot turkey sandwich is to have gravy over the bread and turkey. The turkey was a little dry but it would have been fine if there had been enough gravy. I feel like I wasted my money. Do better Black Bear.
