The staff is very inviting and hospitable. The menu selection is decent. With a full bar to order from. 3-Stars due to overall food taste and flavoring lacked quite a bit. The dishes looked great but much was desired in fulfilling the palate. The place is small, so, call to make an appointment well in advance.
The food was ok. The beet salad was delicious, the beef stroganoff was pretty good as well, the chicken Marsala was meh, the chili lime prawns weren’t prawns, they were just normal sized shrimp. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly to the other tables, but we only ordered water, so we didn’t get great service. So all in all I would say this place is overpriced, but it’s a small town and that’s probably why it was priced the way it was. So if you want ok food and mediocre service this is your place. If you want good service order some wine, and you will actually get wined and dined by the staff.
An absolute delight! All the way from the drink, appetizer, main and dessert was perfection. The meatballs, beef stroganoff and tiramisu are a must. Great atmosphere and staff. I will definitely be coming back.Food: 5/5
I got the Beef Stroganoff, but wasn't a fan of the Goat Cheese flavor, but I would go again. My friend got the seafood and loved it. cute place with friendly staff.
Absolutely phenomenal! This was my second time dining at Black Trumpet Bistro once in 2018 and again this past November 2022 and both times did not disappoint. The atmosphere is super cozy and even though it's a small space, you feel comfortable while dining. The staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Fresh focaccia is given upon being seated, and everything was tasty. I especially loved the Beef Stroganoff! It was perfect with the goat cheese instead of the traditional sour cream base.
Incredible! Great food all around. We had the NY steak and mashed potatoes, the cream sauce was such a great compliment.
We had several friends recommend Black Trumpet Bistro for a dinner spot during our vacation on the coast. Loved that they found a table for us and the service was impeccable. I had the cioppino & my husband had the Shrimp Diablo special. Both were delicious & we enjoyed the creme Brule for dessert. If you're staying on the north coast near Brookings, this is an excellent place to have dinner.
We hosted a customer appreciation dinner here and everything was wonderful.. I mean every single detail.. From planning our reservation we were coming from multiple cities, some of us hours away, our arrival, our service and our food, fantastic experience. We had a large, loud group, and the staff made us feel like family. If you want great service and DELICIOUS food this is the place for you. Definitely our new yearly tradition.
The Black Trumpet is a great place to eat and has outstanding Service and are Server Tyler was wonderfully friendly. All around the service was 10 stars plus Would recommend anyone and everyone to eat here who is looking for dining in with great food and great service
Food was ok. Beet salad was delicious, stroganoff was not too shabby, the Marsala was ok. The staff was ok.
