Welcome to Blackwater Cane Corso — a small private breeder specializing in superior pedigree Cane Corso (pronounced KAH-nay KOR-soh) dogs. Our Corso’s become wonderful family companions, great show dogs, and hardworking career dogs. Working careers include Personal Protection, Schutzhund, Therapy and Service dogs. Our breeding program emphasizes physical health and mental stability with careful attention to preservation of this noble breed. We are committed to sustainable breeding practices that build up and strengthen the Corso breed lines.
All of our Cane Corso dogs and puppies are part of our family. They are raised and live indoors with us in a loving and fun environment. This gives us the opportunity to carefully nurture, observe and test each puppy’s temperament to help us match you and your family with the perfect Blackwater Cane Corso puppy.
We are located on a small farm in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley, with plenty of room for puppies to play and grow. Each of our puppies is exposed to lots of new and exciting experiences and is heavily socialized from day one. During their first few weeks of life, they will meet lots of new people, dogs, cats, and farm animals and be exposed to a variety of new learning experiences. They will also have opportunity to begin developing independence and confidence while still in a secure and controlled environment.
We are committed to the health of each of our dogs and especially our females which means we allow a very limited number of litters each year. Our females are not bred until they are at least two years of age and have passed their hip and elbow screenings. Liters are allowed a maximum of once per year and only after we are certain each female has fully recovered and rested from her last litter. Healthy mama’s make healthy puppies!
