Look, Yes BHS has a lot of students probably too many for the size of the building itself But they offer so many opportunities that aren't found much elsewhere. PSEO is an amazing program, if you really don't like the school and teachers you're able to go to college early. CEMS is great for people interested in Math and Science and Engineering. The music teachers at Blaine are some of the greatest teachers and people you will ever meet. Sure there are a few teachers that are there for the paycheck and nothing else. But every school I've ever heard of has a couple of those. You can sit here a complain about the food, the hallways, or the fact that kids are rude. Grow Up. High School is what you make of it. Get to know your teachers as people, not just the adults that give you homework. Be around the people in school who are going to support you not drag you down. Say what you want about Blaine, but i wouldn't want to go to any other school
My rating is a D- I thought while I was going there that it was a disgrace, joke of a school and more than 20+ years later I still agree. The staff at this building have some of the poorest negative attitudes, especially for people who went to school to teach this age group. I did PSEO to get out of that building which is dark and dingy. It doesn't look like the janitors and/or others responsible for maintaining the building and keeping it good looking are doing their jobs if much at all. It's a miracle, and an easy one to put some fresh paint up and to take the cobwebs down. It's sad to me that the kids have to go through this dingy environment with unsupportive, uncaring and just plain mean and rude teachers. If you want the kids to learn to act like decent people's then you have to surround them with people's that are passionate about their jobs and love what they do and who they work with, right down to janitors and right up to deans. I wouldn't let my children go to this school if I was paid to send them there.
Here is the truth about BHS. It is whatever you want to make it. Honestly , do the CEMS program and take AP classes. Get to know your teachers, 99% of the time they are really solid people. Yes, the school lunches COULD be better, but yah know, that is life right? Concerning backpacks, LOL , gl. Concerning Locker space, LOL gl. Concerning Sleep, well, this ain't no college. Concerning Relationships in Highschool? Let me help you out. Don't waste you time. Concerning Learning? What is learning? I just take TESTS. But in all seriousness, its a pretty solid School. 5/5 Join Nordic , CC , and Track, Shoutout to Coach Nick and realBDT , Distance is LIFE
Needs to be redone all the desks are old the halls are nice but the brown lockers gotta go they suck only nice thing is the bengal den and the smart boards in the rooms i like them but they dont need to be in every room that is juat a waste of taxpayers money
Olson is the best teacher hands down. Overall, great music program and CEMS is good too.
