Like everywhere else these prices went up and the food portions went down. I got the salt and pepper flounder and shrimp combo. The flounder tasted mushy. And I got one decent size and the other looks like it was ripped in half. The shrimp was decent size and tasted alright. A tad over cooked. But the food came out very very hot. I understand it's because they were super busy and understaffed like a lot of restaurants, and trying to cook more at one time.** Here's a helpful tip Just slow down and don't try to overcrowd the fryer basket when you do it drops the oil temperature. ** The staff were AMAZING!!! Making sure everyone was promptly seated and served!!! Thank you for your dedication. Dietary restrictions: They have broiled fish options and vegetable sides. They have hamburgers and steaks if you don't do fish. Parking: Very busy on Fridays and the weekend maybe a little difficult to find parking. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheel chair accessible
Service was good very nice people BUT the food is soggy and bland. No flavor an to top it off the flounder mine broiled an my bfs fried was FULL of bones just couldn't eat it. Idk how people think this is good food an I really hope no one ends up swallowing a bone.
The food was absolutely atrocious. I could’ve done better by going to the freezer section of my local grocery store. I have the feeling that; that’s pretty much what this establishment does anyway. The service could have been more attentive but they were very pleasant and had no issues getting me the few things I asked for. I learned that the condiments they have on the table that normally need to be refrigerated like the tarter and cocktail sauce are kept on the table all day long and just refilled and put back in the fridge at the end of the day so I avoided them like the plague. The Heath department should take a good look at this place.
If you want great service and recommendations, ask for Brittany. She made our 1st time dining at this restaurant wonderful. We will be back.
I was going to fry my own flounder at home but I stopped by Blue Bay to get some tartar sauce and hush puppies. Of course, whenever you sit down for dinner hush puppies and tartar sauce or just staples and free for the meal. I ordered a to-go box of hush puppies and a pint of tartar sauce and guess what I paid? $16+. I think that is absurd. When a regular customer has to pay that when I could have set at the table and ordered their seafood and had all that for free.
Not worth the pain! Dinner last night tasted good and service was great. My oldest son and I.... luckily we have 2 bathrooms spent most of the night yo-yoing in and out. The oysters from his broiled plate were the only thing we shared. My youngest sons girlfriend tried one and was complaining of a stomach ache when we dropped her off. she chewed one of the oysters up but spit it out.
I am a long time customer of theirs. Food is always fresh and hot. You get a good size meal for the cost. Complimentary hush puppies to eat while you wait on your food. Food comes in an appropriate amount of time. Wait staff does a good job getting orders correct the first time. Kid-friendliness: I always see children here. They have a good children's menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat parking, no step up to entrance, wide doors.

Worst blue bay experience ever .. my food was incorrect .. called to get it corrected…told me they would fix it .. drove 20 minutes just for fresh food and my order was still not ready! Waited another 30 minutes for my plate: By far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Never had to wait until 9pm to eat food I ordered at 7pm.
The bone-in flounder was delicious. Everything was fried perfectly. The quantity of food is amazing for the price. The hushpuppies are the best. The SWEET TEA IS THE BEST I'VE HAD IN NC so far. Not a long wait time and the customer service was great. Our server was hands down a Professional.
