Look at the other reviews that talk about being diagnosed with periodontal disease. I made the mistake of overlooking them. I had a dentist I loved for ten years, but he moved. I always floss and brush twice a day and got good reports, no cavities or issues. The first time I went to this office I was told I had early periodontal disease and needed two fillings replaced. I was pretty naive and said okay. I paid for a very expensive cleaning, above the standard that would have been free. It was over $300. I had spent $0 out of pocket for the 10 years being with my previous dentist. My fillings that were replaced were also a mess. I went back six different times to get the fillings shaved down and my bite adjusted. I still have difficulties with those two teeth. I was obsessive about my dental care after the first visit and 6 months later I was then told I had advanced into full-blown periodontal disease. They wouldn't even do a regular cleaning and now were wanting me to spend over $1,200 for a rooting and scaling. Something seemed shady, so I paid out of pocket to go to my son's dentist, whom I trusted. She did a full exam and said my teeth looked healthy and my gums looked good. She said I did NOT have periodontal disease and essentially I was being scammed. So disappointing. We don't make much money and after only going to this dentist for 8 months, they took well over $3,000 from us, between my husband and I. I asked the head dentist to be reimbursed for the unnecessary cleaning that I paid over $300 for. I just received a check in the mail today for $5. This is a corporate dentist office. They are owned by Pacific Dental services. If you Google Pacific Dental Services, you will see all of the lawsuits against them. Very sad.
I had been a customer and was very happy until starting about 2.5 years ago. I suddenly was diagnosed with periodontal disease and told I needed the deep cleaning routine. I went a couple of more times refusing to have the deep clean and I was minded I could loose my teeth if I did not have the deep cleaning done. I changed to another local dentist office and I was told my gums were very health. This place can not be trusted! I will not be back!
My family has been going to Bluesprings Dentistry for 5 years now. I love the care we get, the entire team is fantastic. Shannon specifically is so special, she is thorough, proactive recommending treatments and caring. Shannon takes care of me like a queen! Thank you!!
I spent 4000 out of pocket here last year. Returned last month because a crown they did less than a year ago fell out. They told me no warranty on that. They also told me I had about 5000 dollars more work to be done and a gum disease. After giving them so much money and realizing they A- Do Not take responsibility for their workmanship. B- Have a high turnover rate. I decided to get a second opinion from a smaller more established dentist. Shocker! I DON'T have any gum disease and only need 600 dollars of work NOT 5000. This team should be ashamed. Though I'll pay of the ridiculous confusing bill they stuck me with, I will NEVER return. DO NOT GO HERE.
Went to this office for 5 years, from the time it opened, due to them being only ones in my insurance network. I saw a different dentist every visit they usually only last about a year, and hygienists turn over about every year as well. I was told I had periodontal disease and needed to pay for localized scaling “deep cleaning” numerous times. Another dentist told me my teeth were fine and I didn’t have periodontal disease and didn’t need extra cleanings. When I didn’t want to do the extra cleanings, they started telling me I needed to buy a night guard. This is a sales driven office. They take cheap insurance plans to sell you on unneeded procedures later. Do not trust them with your dental care. Total scam.
I just wanted to take a moment and give a huge thank you to Shannon, Laura and Cassandra from blue springs dentistry. I really appreciate you taking care of me today the way you did. The time you took and the concern you showed speaks volumes! You all truly care for your patients and it shows. Again I can't thank you and will see you in 3 month's
If I could give a negative star rating here, I would. Initially the reason for leaving this practice was due to a few things. HUGE turn over with staff. Never the same people quarterly or every 6 months. They could never schedule appointments so that my daughter and I could be seen together. More than once they cancelled my appointments same day due to lack of staff. I was over it. I decided to seek care elsewhere. So I knew I had a credit with my previous insurance. Asked more than once for the credit amount. Was told the office manager would have to call me on both occasions and never heard from her. It's now been a little over a year and I called again. The run around I got was they were STILL waiting on a check from the insurance. Supposedly the insurance had mailed a check and they never received it. So they are still waiting. Then I was told that some services were denied with my new insurance. And that is why they took my credit amount and applied it. The funny thing is that they cannot give me the amounts that were denied, but could take over $170 that was from a different insurance company and use it towards a childs routine cleaning/exam/x-rays with current insurance. Mind you, I have great insurance benefits being a federal employee. I feel they are giving me the run around due to their different responses. Office manager told me she would give me a call within 24hr after some more "digging" but It's been almost 48hr and she wouldn't take my call.
If you have read the reviews about them trying to get the periodontal cleaning for customers who don’t need them, believe it. I had been in a few times and had cleanings with no indication of having any periodontal issues. Came in relatively recently and after my cleaning, the dentist told me that I needed this periodontal cleaning. Tried to tell me the procedure would take multiple visits and would be around $500. Having never had any indication of periodontal disease, I immediately booked another appointment at a dentist office closer to my house for a second opinion. Went to this new office and after x-rays and a quick exam, they told me my teeth were fine and continue to do what I was doing. Also, Blue Springs Dentistry tried to get me to have a cavity filled that day, but went to this other dentist office and I was told by them that the tooth is fine and no need to have it filled. Side note: My wife went there once and was immediately told she had to have the cleaning as well, except they wouldn’t even clean her teeth after they diagnosed her with periodontal. Pretty upset to see that people are getting swindled into paying for procedures they don’t need. However, the front desk staff is pretty nice.
All I wanted was a cleaning !!!! First off - just a word of advice to the two ladies at the front desk - don't gossip about other employees with patients in the waiting room. My teeth may be bad but my hearing is excellent. Next - the xray lady got almost done with my full xrays then for some reason hit the wrong button and had to start all over. I was 30 minutes or more in that area. At times you feel like you are in a big box store getting looked at because people are scurrying around - just not my thing. I think I was introduced to 4 different people during my visit. Just not the personal touches I'm used to in a dental office. The final blow was after the dentist came in and did an evaluation I was introduced to the front office billing lady who proceeded to go into detail everything I needed on that visit. Deep cleaning, 2 crowns, etc etc. The total bill WITH my Medicare Insurance was well over $2400. Hitting a senior citizen on a fixed income with a bill like that is not the best move. Perhaps using a little tact and discussing options to do some of this stuff over time would have worked better. Did I really need to have both crowns replaced that day? The crowns were in decent shape and not causing any immediate problems - seemed to be a little money hungry to me. She even tried to up charge me for a better porcelain crown - I'm 67 years old and really not looking for an extended warranty on a crown !!! I was left flabbergasted. I told her I would need to think about it. She then told me that she would print me out a copy and meet me at the front desk. So after all that and almost 90 minutes in the facility I left without getting my teeth cleaned. ALL I WANTED WAS TO GET MY TEETH CLEANED !!!
When they first opened I really liked going here. Lately it has been just chaos. A computer system or owner switch caused them to lose my x-rays from just 6 months prior, they asked me for my insurance information 4 different times prior to my appointment, and treated me like I had never been there before. They seem to have a high staff turnover now and I never see the same person which makes me feel uneasy. The last time I went in a couple weeks ago I had a hygienist come in and poke around behind my molars and tell me I had peridontal disease and needed a deep cleaning. My teeth were just fine a few months before. I could not afford a deep cleaning so I asked for a regular cleaning for now and was told they don't do that after they already diagnosed you with peridontal disease. They had me wait to speak to a completely different hygienist who tried to basically SELL me the deep cleaning and started haggling the price with me. I had already told him my financial situation and this really upset me and made me feel like I was at a car lot instead of dealing with someone that cares about my dental health. I ended up letting them keep my $50 deposit and left. I got another opinion and did not even need a deep cleaning. I was also told that it's not true that they cannot do a regular cleaning once they have "diagnosed " you with peridontal disease. Stay away.
