Beautiful place, I love the building itself as well! Great views. Wonderful for group get togethers. Got couple of drinks and watched the sunsetAtmosphere: 5/5
Great rooftop bar on top of an old school building. Great views of Philly. No draft beers but have a decent selection as well as a decent cocktail menu Parking: Try to find street parking nearby or get dropped off
Great concept! Love the idea of giving a second use to an older building, supporting local vendors and and a wide variety of local products. Nice relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views and great service. Wish we could have seen the sunset, but that area is occupied by another business.Food: 5/5
You come to Bok Bar for basically one reason: the views. As luck would have it, they have an amazing staff and a solid drink selection. Their food options have also improved with a roughly monthly rotation of pop-up vendors supporting. To take in the views, you won't be charged a cover nor will you need a reservation. You may have to make your way through crowds depending on the day, however, snapping a quick picture should not be impossible. Keep in mind, there is little cover from the sun or other elements, so plan accordingly. The beer selection is decent and they have a handful of simple cocktails to enjoy. If you aren't quite sure what you'll want, scan the QR code for the full menu and take a look or ask for some advice. The lines move fairly quickly. Finally, the food changes often but has always been solid in my opinion. Prices are reasonable for the location as well. Overall, worth the occasional special trip if you're not in the area often. Check it out!
These delicious filipino devours and roof top vibes come from the dope @bok_bar / @tabachoyphilly / @dockstreetbeer . Here is the Smoked Filipino BBQ Wings & Garlic rice ; while also having a dock street Pilsner . This place has really good vibes and awesome views. The bathrooms are really clean. The bartenders and the servers are really dope and easy to talk to. If you ever find yourself wanting some dope sunset vibes by also having a beer and trying a new food residency, please check out @bok_bar @dockstreetbeer @tabachoyphilly , and, of course, told them that shimmy sent you! #philly #philadelphia #foodie #food #foodstagram #foodphotography #foodblogger #water #beer #wings #chicken #rice #garlic #sunset #views #friends
Outstanding open air rooftop bar, south of downtown Philly! Incredible panoramic views of the Philadelphia skyline and surrounding area. Worth the trip for that alone. The bar has a laid-back relaxed feel with an assortment of places to sit or just lean against the rail and take in the view. The bar is a top of an old educational building that has been re-purposed. Just take the elevator to the top and prepare to be wowed. Bar service includes craft beer, can cocktails or mixed drinks. Some food service as well. We didn’t eat. Great place to take in the sunset and catch a nighttime view. On the other side other from the bar is a separate restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating that has views of South Philly, including the sports stadiums. This is a unique establishment and is a must do!!
Absolute best views of the Philly skyline. We went there early so it was really quiet I mean not quiet, the music was really loud, but not too many people. Really great time. Beautiful beautiful. Drinks are normal bar drinks just got a beer, didn’t try the food. Will definitely go back though!Service: 5/5
Great view. Quick and nice service. No draft beers tho. Makes you nostalgic about highschool. Correct menu and prices are from the qr code at the location
You come for the views, not the food or drinks. Insane view of the Philly skyline. Such a cool spot too, it’s an old high school that they converted into a public space. The very top is the rooftop bar, Bok Bar. You can buy canned drinks, pretty overpriced but a lot of options. The main attraction is the stunning view. There are free telescopes to really zoom in to the landscape too. We came later in the evening, but during there day there are a lot of great local shops on the lower levels that look like they would be fun to check out. Definitely a special spot in Philly.
This place is beautiful and breathtaking the view and set up I would give it more stars if they would improve their food and drink list. I asked if the chicken sandwich was breast, was told yes but received our food and bit into a very dark gristle filled thigh!! It was stomach turning. Also 15$ for 4 small shrimp!!!! Yup, you read that right 15$ for 4 tiny shrimp!! We def will be back after eating somewhere else first next time..
